A huge shout out to the local residents who’ve donated their old bikes to Western Metropolitan Regional Council 🙌🏽

Thanks to this incredible initiative, more than 200 bikes a year are diverted from landfill and put to work engaging at-risk young people through Dismantle’s BikeRescue program.

Every participant dismantles and rebuilds one bike to keep, and another that’s donated back to the community.

To date, we’ve worked with over 3,000 disadvantaged young people and recycled close to 5,000 bikes in the process.

Turning waste into opportunity, and old bikes into fresh starts 🚲✨

Our BikeRescue program is officially done and dusted. Massive effort from an incredible group who stuck with every curveball these bikes threw at us, had each other’s backs and rolled through every challenge that came their way.

Dismantle is thrilled to receive a St.George Bank Thrive Community Grant! 🎉 This support will empower our in-house case management program, JobReadii, which provides one-on-one guidance to young people facing tough challenges. With this grant, we can continue helping young people break down barriers, build solid foundations, and pursue their career dreams. 🙌

Friends, if you live around the Osborne Park area, the City of Vincent have kindly offered their local depot to be a bike donation drop off point! We recycle about 800 bikes a year supporting disadvantaged young people and we’re running low, so if you’ve got an old one in the shed that needs some TLC, please consider donating 🤗🤗.

You can drop off at 1 Linwood Ct, Osborne Park anytime between now and October 31. Open Mon-Fri, 9AM-4PM. 🚲🚲🫶🏼🫶🏼

BikeRescue hit the red gravel road to Kununurra recently and had an absolute blast with this great bunch of kids! Safe to say they’re all pretty chuffed with their new wheels 🚲🚲✨✨
