particularly the Southern Sudanese have been living under oppression Since independence from Britain in 1956, the Sudanese people and, their liberty denied and basic Human Rights seldom observed. Consequently, two civil wars erupted and further atrocities took place. All these lead to the destruction of infrastructure in the South and prevented many from getting basic education. Militarism, religi
ous and ethnic discrimination played a major role. Mindful of the fact that unity is strength that leads to development and prosperity and enables people to withstand the odds against life, we the people of Equatoria in Western Australia seise this current state of peace in the South to form this Association, which we believe will contribute effectively in enhancing unity among our people. Realising that development cannot be achieved without peace, justice and human rights observation, this Association will strive to raise the awareness of our people about that which will open unlimited windows of opportunities to every individual to prosper. As a key element in development, one of our major tasks is to promote human rights in order that individual potentials are fully utilised and people are not discriminated against because of their race, religion or gender. Finally, we acknowledge that it is equally important for the betterment of our people to forge friendly relations with Democratic and peace loving countries with the purpose of promoting peace, development and stability across the globe.
