The media can be a powerful tool for raising awareness about a missing person’s disappearance.

It can be used both immediately and/or long term to encourage anyone who has information about the whereabouts or disappearance of the missing person to come forward. In rare cases police may advise against publicity; if so, they will tell you the reasons for doing this.

On this, the 20th day of June, we reflect upon the sacrifices of our dedicated and brave canines that have given so much to locating those missing from all environs.

Whether that be in a disaster zone, whether that be wandering the Australian bush, or stumbling through our metropolitan areas, these dogs dedicated so much to assist us to assist others in bringing home their loved Ones.

Today we remember those that have passed before, and look to those that are currently serving as to those puppies soon to become an accredited SAR dog.
