Millennium Kids Inc We exist to tackle the big issues

Millennium Kids is an environmental youth organisation run by young people for young people.

Millennium Kids is built on the Kids Helping Kids Conference 1996-1998, developed by four young Western Australians, who wanted to bring together young people to discuss, plan and deliver real projects around the issues they raised in their local community. In 2022 Millennium Kids will be supported by the State Natural Resource Management Group, Lotterywest, Department of Justice Criminal Property

Confiscation Grants, City of Canning, City of Melville and many others to help young people plan and develop their change making projects in their communities in Australia, Indonesia and South Africa. In 2021 Millennium Kids was announced winner of the prestigious Banksia Award - Community and Charity. https://banksiafdn.com/2020-winners/

and our fabulous Green Lab program was selected at Top 14 Innovator, Uplink by the World Economic Forum. https://green lab.org.au

MK met Lucy at the RAC WA Ignite Leadership program in 2024. In 2025 Lucy stepped up and cofacilitated the RAC Ignite Leadership program in 2025, alongside MK leaders Troy and Chris.

In 2026 Lucy contacted MK to work alongside her with the YAC team at City of Cockburn to look at the big question: how do we work effectively with young people in leadership roles to take their ideas and make them real?

Today we met for motivational coffee to codesign a fun, interactive, action learning process for young people in the YAC team.

Go Lucy!

It’s Reconciliation Week and at MK we reflect, review and reimagine what being a good ally means.

Walking beside the Indigenous groups we work with, stepping back, elevating their voice, learning, listening, listening, listening. To people and Country.

Vale Carlo Petrini

Carlo and the Slow Food International and local teams supported Millennium Kids to develop a range of food garden projects at schools in Western Australia and North West Province, South Africa.

Carlo and the Slow Food Italia team also supported our buddies in Dompu with a scholarship to their annual event.

Carlo was a visionary. May his legacy continue.

And what a sundowner it was. Bird vibes . Tree vibes. And lots of thoughtful young people contemplating how they could be part of the Friends of Lake Claremont action.

Thanks Josh, Chris and Lucas for creating such a fun way to get to know the lake.
