🌳 That's a wrap for the 2025 PLA WA Region Conference! We want to begin by saying a massive thank you to all of our attendees, keynotes, stream speakers, trade exhibitors and sponsors. This event wouldn't be possible without all of you and we hope you enjoyed a fantastic two full days of learning, networking and collaborating.

🗣️ We heard from our final two keynotes on Wednesday as they shared powerful and inspiring messages, Dr Kelsie Prabawa-Sear on Designing for Belonging: Inclusive Recreation and Play for All and Nick Cox on Guestology: The Art and Science of Knowing and Understanding Customers.

🏆 And of course, we couldn’t forget the social highlight of the year: the Awards of Excellence Gala Event, where we honoured the outstanding contributions across PLA WA.

Following a successful first day at the PLA WA Regional Conference, we kicked off day two with a Park Manager's Breakfast — a great opportunity for our industry leaders to connect, collaborate, and energize for the day ahead. A big thank you to our sponsor, Green by Nature, for supporting this event.

Today, we’re excited to hear from more inspiring keynote speakers, engage in valuable networking with fellow industry professionals, and most importantly, celebrate our WA Awards of Excellence winners this afternoon. We are officially underway here at Pan Pacific Hotel Perth for day one of the 2025 Parks and Leisure Australia WA Region Conference!

Across the next two days, attendees and industry professionals will come together for an incredible program of networking, knowledge sharing, and showcasing the best our industry has to offer. As the only sector conference brought to you by local government for local government and its supporters, it is a true celebration of the PEOPLE behind the PLACES.

We launched the event with inspiring opening keynotes from Stephen Yarwood with a thought-provoking speech on AI and the advancement of technology and Dr. Brad Pettitt MLC on Positive Climate Perth, discussing how we can make Perth a more liveable city. Delegates will now experience two full days of rich content - with more than 12 hours of content across three diverse streams.
