Last week in Ho Chi Minh City on behalf of the Western Australia Vietnam Business Council (WAVBC) I attended an MOU signing ceremony with the Australian Alumni Business Network (AABN).

The Australian Alumni Business Network (AABN) is a platform supported by the Australian Government for Australian alumni to promote business cooperation, entrepreneurship, economic development and sustainability, as well as strengthen Australia–Vietnam bilateral partnership and support the objectives of Invested: Australia’s Southeast Asia Economic Strategy to 2040.

After just six months since forming, the AABN is quickly growing in popularity with the many Alumni who have studied in Australia and have returned to Vietnam. Over half the current members are working in such leading business sectors as Education & Training, Finance & Investment and Technology & Communications.

It was enjoyable to engage with those AABN advisory board members present and sign the MOU which will connect the WAVBC with many of Vietnam’s future business leaders. Afterwards, we discussed future collaboration opportunities which will include a AABN visit to Western Australia later this year.

Special thanks to Ms Kelly Vo and her team for arranging the signing ceremony
