This week our Kindy 4 children experienced their very first Busy Kindy excursion for 2026 with a wonderful adventure to Coolbinia Bushland 🌿

We walked together, shared our predictions about what we might discover and challenged ourselves on the obstacle course before beginning our bush walk. The children observed leaves, bark, birds and insects closely, showing great curiosity and confidence.

Back at the centre, we continued the learning with our “Rubbery Tree” drawing experience, revealing the beautiful textures of bark using crayons.

A joyful milestone filled with exploration, movement and connection with nature ✨

Last year, our Kindy 4 children engaged in an enquiry project that sparked curiosity, deep thinking and joyful discovery. Guided by their own questions and interests, the children explored ideas, tested theories and reflected on their learning through meaningful hands-on experiences.

This project was proudly submitted as part of our Little Scientists application for re-certification and we are delighted to share the interview clip showcasing this learning journey.

Did you know that this is the third time Ruth Landau Harp Early Learning has been recognised as a Little Scientists House? This achievement reflects our ongoing commitment to inquiry-based learning, critical thinking and empowering children to become confident researchers of their world.

We are incredibly proud of our Kindy 4 children and our passionate educators who bring science, creativity and wonder to life every day.

From March 2026, our Kindy 4 children will participate in a specialised Bush Kindy excursion at WA Gould League Herdsman Lake Wildlife Centre. This excursion will be held fortnightly on Thursdays. This wonderful opportunity has been made possible through the generous Preschool Reform Agreement (PRA) Supporting Children in Early Childhood Education and Care WA grant.

We are proud to be one of 52 WA education and care providers sharing in $2.9 million in grant funding, directly benefiting more than 7,200 children across Western Australia.

We are delighted to share and thank Sabine Winton MLA for recognising the importance of high-quality early learning and its vital role in supporting children’s lifelong learning, social development and future success.

Congratulations to Child Australia for delivering this program and to all successful providers. We look forward to seeing the positive impact this initiative will have on our children and community. 🌱✨

🌟 We are proud to celebrate our Kindy 4 team for their excellent inquiry project submitted as part of our re-certification as a Little Scientists House.

The project was praised for being “an outstanding, child-led project that clearly followed the inquiry cycle and kept STEM at its core.Educators created open-ended, engaging experiences that supported children to collect ideas, test hypotheses, refine their thinking, and explore STEM concepts in meaningful ways.”

Did you know that our educators participate in numerous STEM professional development workshops with Little Scientists as part of the certification process? Their dedication ensures that STEM learning is integrated throughout our entire service, evident in all learning spaces.

We are delighted to share that this is the third time we have been certified as a Little Scientists House.
