The Ressies came onto the field strong and left with a 6-0 win 🔥🔥 extending their winning streak and securing top spot on the ladder. After Canning scored the first goal in the First Team match, Northern City lifted the intensity to finish with a 4-1 win.

📣 Player Spotlight: Northern City FC and First Team Coach Mohammad Asfoor were thrilled to have Mehdi join our First Team squad.

Mehdi brings massive experience across WA football and an outstanding goalscoring record at every level he’s played.

After a stint with NPL side with Floreat Athena, playing a key role in their Night Series triumph before returning to the Sunday leagues, where he built a reputation as one of the most lethal strikers in WA football.

At North Perth United, Mehdi spent two seasons, becoming both the club’s top scorer and league top scorer in his second year with an incredible 36 goals.

He then joined Fraser Park, where he scored a record-breaking 45 goals, won the Division 3 title, and helped the club gain promotion to Division 2.

At East Perth, Mehdi continued his dominance with 28 goals, finishing as both club and league top scorer, winning the Division 2 title, securing promotion to Division 1, and adding another Night Series trophy to his achievements.

Returning to Fraser Park, he once again claimed both club and league top scorer honours with another 36-goal season.

Most recently at Morley Windmills, Mehdi played a key role in helping the club secure promotion to State League 2.

A lethal finisher and complete striker, Mehdi consistently averages close to 40 goals a season and brings huge quality, experience, and leadership to Northern City.

Our ambitious young stars bring so much talent, energy, and love for the game! Each week, we see these players working hard to become the best versions of themselves, and their dedication to doing their best continues to inspire us. The team is also fortunate to have a fantastic coach who supports and guides them every step of the way.

📣 Player Spotlight: Northern City FC and First Team coach Mohammad Asfoor are delighted to have Tahir Rezai in our First Team squad.

Bringing a wealth of experience, he progressed through WA’s junior NPL system at clubs including Balcatta Etna FC, Perth Soccer Club and Inglewood United FC before breaking into senior football with Gwelup Croatia SC, as well as State League clubs Dianella White Eagles SC, Ashfield SC and Forrestfield United SC.

A back-to-back Football West Kick It World Cup champion, Tahir is an exciting talent on the ball who brings flair, creativity and goals to our attack. Comfortable on the wing or as a playmaker in midfield, he’ll be one to watch this season.

“I’m delighted to have signed for Northern City. We’ve built a strong squad and hopefully we can achieve big things this season.”
