Does anyone have the album Thank you for the years by Dame Shirley Bassey. Our father has passed and I would like to play the title song from the album. Unfortunately not available on Spotify or anywhere else I look.

Thank you to Perth Male Voice Choir and their President Ellis Griffiths for inviting myself as President of the Welsh Society of WA to their Century of Singing concert as their guest, on Friday 14th August at Fremantle Town Hall. This was exactly 100 years since the choir performed for the very first time, to the date and location! It was a wonderful performance and added surprise performance by Paul O’Neill and Teddy Tahu Rhodes on their night off from performing in Eugene Onegin! Congratulations to the choir on their 100th anniversary! I’m looking forward to attending their Gala concert 100 voices for 100 years on 1st November at Churchlands Concert Hall! I have already purchased my tickets, as Friday was a sell out I strongly suggest you get in early!

A big shout out to everyone who attended our bingo event on Saturday in Duncraig! We had some absolutely fabulous prizes for the big house wins generously donated by Hardware Cafe and The Firkin!

We had 3 brimming hampers as raffle prizes and a great silent auction! Everyone had a wonderful time and we even welcomed a few new faces.

Everyone enjoyed the half time soup catered by Julie's Kitchen (our favourite caterer!) so a big thank you again for keeping the Welsh Society well fed!

A hilarious new cabaret show straight out of Dubrovnik and into Lyric’s Underground this July!

What happens when Shirley Bassey’s long lost cousin, escapes a Croatian village to embark on a superstar career just like her famous relative? You get Shirley Basich, complete with a seedy past, a dodgy “mentor” and enough wartime PTSD for an over-the-top extravaganza!
Direct from a sell-out tour of ‘all the small villages’ in Croatia, Albania and Bulgaria, Coldfinger! comes to Lyric’s Underground on July 25th and 26th! If you love a James Bond-like powerhouse performance you’ll love Shirley Basich and her traumatised pianist, Vincent.
Featuring Mary Vidovich as Shirley and Vincent Colagiuri as Vincent, this show serves up a heady cocktail of glamour, dubious backstories, and just the right amount of Balkan absurdity.
Mary Vidovich has been performing in operas, musicals and self-devised plays and cabarets for nearly 30 years. Coldfinger! brings Mary back to her Croatian roots all while unleashing an over-the-top, Bassey-esque spectacle of drama and diva energy.
Vincent Colagiuri has built a career as an accomplished pianist and Musical Director, touring in concerts, plays, cabarets, musicals and grand operas. He was also Musical Director on the last Australasian touring production of The Phantom of the Opera. Now based in Perth, Vincent runs his own successful piano-teaching studio.

A big shout out those who attended our first Peint a Sgwrs The Woodvale Tavern and Reception Centre on Sunday! We had 17 attend including 4 non members (someone even joined us all the way from Mandurah!) plus a family joined us at the end who hadn’t long moved here from Wales. We received a warm welcome and enjoyed a fab roast and a few drinks🍻 The committee look forward to welcoming everyone the next Peint a Sgwrs on Sunday 20th September at the same venue! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿
