10 years at Ozharvest and still smiling!

Andrew encapsulates what Ozharvest stands for and he brings more than his strenght to the table. We asked him a few questions to commemorate his 10 year milestone.

What inspired you to join Ozharvest?
-I wanted a job where I was helping people and where I could be useful.

What has kept you passionate about the mission?
-The people we help, everything we do has a postive benefit to real people.

Why do you believe Ozharvest work is so important?
- After being a driver I can see the work we do through food rescue allows people in need one less thing to worry about.

Its FRIDAY!

You deserve an applause 👏 like the amazing team of 15 from who came into our kitchen and cooked an amazing 178 meals!!

They cooked, they sang, they danced and laughed in our kitchen all while preparing meals for those in need. The love that was poured into their class was evident by the delicious meals they made. I know for a fact they left with hearts full of joy for giving back in our kitchen.

We recently joined the team at Spacecubed's Breakfast Club to host our Hack Your Fridge Demo, sharing simple and practical ways to use up everything in your fridge and throw away as little as possible.

It was fantastic to connect with such an engaged audience who asked thoughtful questions about everything from use-by dates and food safety, to where the meals we cooked end up and how they could get involved with OzHarvest.

A huge thank you to the Spacecubed community for having us and for their enthusiasm in reducing food waste at home and in the workplace.

Meet Will, our Hamper Packer Extraordinaire! 🌟

Every shift, Will rocks up early to sort our pantry items, getting everything ready to pack for the 140 hampers that head out to those in need across WA each week. That's the kind of energy and dedication that keeps our warehouse running and our community fed.

The world needs more Will's. Alongside all our incredible Yellow Angels, he reminds us that showing up early and giving your all can change someone's whole week.

Thank you, Will, for everything you bring to the OzHarvest WA team. We see you, and we appreciate you.

This Homelessness Week, the need has never been greater. Every day, organisations like Hope Inc WA are on the ground making sure no one faces it alone; a warm meal, a safe space, a moment of dignity. At OzHarvest, we see how far rescued food can go, but we can't do it without frontline supporters like them.

Where is the love???

In our kitchen with our beautiful volunteers and Chefs! Rescued food can often be seen as not good enough to eat, but if you enter our kitchen you will see what we can do with food that would have been disposed of.
