Discover how to create meaningful STEM learning experiences that inspire curiosity, creativity and critical thinking. This hands-on workshop introduces educators to inquiry-based learning through the Design Thinking Framework, exploring practical ways to connect science, technology, engineering and mathematics with authentic, real-world challenges.

Participants will investigate how empathy, place and local contexts can be used to engage students in purposeful STEM learning while designing cross-curricular experiences that integrate science, technologies, humanities, literacy and the arts. Suitable for both primary and secondary educators, this workshop provides adaptable strategies that can be implemented across a range of year levels and learning environments.

Rethink Menstrual Cycle Education in Your Classroom

Join us for My Vital Cycles: Transforming Menstrual Cycle Education in Schools, a half-day professional learning workshop designed to help educators deliver menstrual cycle education with confidence, accuracy and impact.

This evidence-informed session explores practical ways to make menstrual cycle science engaging, memorable and accessible for students from Year 8 through to ATAR. You'll gain classroom-ready strategies to individualise learning, scaffold complex concepts, and learn about the latest insights from clinical practice in Restorative Reproductive Medicine.

Participants will also explore how stronger collaboration across education and health can enhance reproductive health education in schools.

Please note: As this program is currently being evaluated, participants will be invited to contribute to an ongoing research project and will be asked to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement
(NDA) prior to participating.

Help your students see the world differently. 🌏👓



Join us for this engaging professional learning workshop and discover SeeChange, a STEM outreach initiative designed to promote eye health, vision awareness and inclusion in primary schools.



Explore a range of ready-to-use educational resources, including online learning videos, hands-on classroom activities and opportunities for school visits by trained educators. Learn practical ways to teach students about vision, vision impairment, healthy eye-care habits, and the importance of creating inclusive and supportive communities.

Developed in partnership with educators, eye-care professionals and individuals with lived experience of vision impairment, See Change supports schools to build awareness of preventable vision problems and encourage lifelong healthy eye-care habits.

Future Science returns in 2026 with an exciting expanded two-day program, bringing together science educators from across Western Australia to explore innovative teaching, contemporary science and practical classroom practice.

New features for 2026 include:
🟦 A dedicated Leadership Stream.
🟦 Agricultural science, Maritime and Psychology workshops.
🟦 Practical workshops for primary educators.
🟦 Excursions showcasing science in action.

✨ That's a wrap on the Early Careers & Pre-service Teachers STEM Conference 2026! ✨

What an inspiring day of learning, connection and collaboration as we welcomed the next generation of STEM educators from across Western Australia.

From an inspiring keynote presentation by Matt Dodds, recipient of the 2025 Prime Minister's Prize for Excellence in Science Teaching in Secondary Schools, to practical workshops and valuable networking opportunities with experienced teachers, the day was filled with learning and connection.

A huge thank you to Scitech for hosting the conference, and to everyone who attended, presented, mentored, exhibited and supported the event. Your enthusiasm made this conference such a success.
