That's it! With what was an amazing effort by skilled, passionate and experienced people, WADDI completed the final seagrass monitoring site at Rottnest Island.

Two weekends and a day trip, eleven divers and great weather added up to ten longterm seagrass monitoring sites being surveyed for indicators of health.

Many hands make one.

The team completed 4 sites this weekend. Surveying nearshore seagrass meadows to collect data that will be used to assess current health.

Seagrass meadows at Rottnest Island are important for supporting juvenile fish and invertebrates, stabilising sediments, protecting the beaches against erosion and locking away carbon.
