Members of Access Plus WA Deaf are invited to attend the General Meeting. The Meeting to be held at 44a Kings Park Rd, West Perth at Deaf Connect offices. The meeting will commence on Thursday 15 February 2024 at 6.00pm (Perth time).

This Meeting will have two agenda items – to approve the 2022-23 Audited Financial Statements, and to call for the cancellation of Access Plus WA Deaf as it has incorporated into Deaf Connect.

Starting 24 July 2023, all service offerings from Access Plus WA Deaf will be provided by Deaf Connect.

Access Plus WA Deaf, has been supporting the Western Australian Deaf, deafblind and hard of hearing community for over 100 years.

In June 2023, after much consultation and consideration, Access Plus WA Deaf invited Deaf Connect to acquire the organisation, with all services offered for the Deaf Community transferring to Deaf Connect.

Following this transition, Access Plus WA Deaf clients will have access to the services of the leading provider for the Deaf, deafblind and hard of hearing communities in Australia. There is no change or impact to how your service is delivered.

Deaf Connect are proud to welcome and transition the Access Plus WA Deaf employees to the Deaf Connect team. Meaning, you will still work with your preferred staff and interpreters, and see familiar faces. Visit www.deafconnect.org.au to learn more.

Access Plus WA Deaf social media and website pages will now be closed down, so make sure you follow Deaf Connect on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and on their website for information and to book your services.

Last week, we hosted a Historical Photo Viewing event with Dr Breda Carty from Deaf Connect as a special guest.

It was wonderful to go through photos from the past, and to discuss how we can best preserve the historical images. Deaf Connect will be posting some photos from the event on their page in the coming days!

It was very informative and gave opportunity for both Deaf and hearing to ask questions and have them answered.
