The Perth Harriettes. They make an impact everywhere they go.

For yonks, they've been supporting our Brollie Brigade team, along with Lisa and the clothing team from Perth Homeless Support Group, with hygiene products and clothing.

They've now expanded their reach to provide assistance to a new Rivervale community member who had nothing left after paying his bond and rent up front. They teamed up with our Amanda to shift it from the Harriettes donor to the new rental.

We've been kept busy over the last fortnight or so. Our volunteers have:

☑️ Repaired a play cubby and some roof plumbing at a local refuge
☑️ Replaced tyres and tubes on a gopher, someone's sole means of transport
☑️ Found a replacement walker for a regular at our mobile services, courtesy of our good and generous friends at No Limits Perth The current walker has no brakes, no tyres on the rims and no seat
☑️ Started a cleanup and cleanout for a pensioner who has more than enough will but lacks the physical ability to do the work themselves
☑️ Helped to facilitate some hampers for someone who's finally got a HomesWest home
☑️ Provided advocacy for a regular to support their application for NDIS funding
☑️Helping someone who is wheelchair bound sell a used gopher no longer in use

We try to assist when we learn of cases where people's needs fall through the Aged Care, Pension or NDIS cracks or when their exceed the support available.

So many people are depending on collecting bottles and cans in order to try and get by 🍞🍏.
But they still need a way 🛒to get to a container for change depot to cash them in.
Made possible by local community volunteering 👍🙂.

We've been learning more about repairing and maintaining gofers than we ever imagined. 🔧👨‍🦼👷
