Amplifying the Voices of Multicultural Parents and Families!
OACWA was pleased to host a parent consultation as part of the National Multicultural Children (NMC) Scoping Project, led by Settlement Services International (SSI).
The consultation provided an important opportunity for parents from African and multicultural backgrounds to share their lived experiences, challenges and aspirations for their children growing up in Australia.
We extend our sincere appreciation to all the parents who participated and generously shared their insights. Your voices are essential in identifying opportunities to improve policies, services and support systems that enable multicultural children and families to thrive.
A special thank you to Brad Chilcott for facilitating the consultation and creating a welcoming environment for meaningful discussions.
We also acknowledge SSI and the project sponsor Minderoo Foundation for championing this important national initiative and ensuring multicultural communities have a voice in shaping the future of Australia’s children.
We look forward to the final national report and its recommendations, which will help inform future policy, investment and services that better respond to the needs of multicultural children and their families.
