Australian Indian Medical Association (AIMA) Statement

The Australian Indian Medical Association strongly condemns the recent antisemitic incident in Sydney and the senseless violence that has caused deep pain to the Jewish community.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to the victims, their families, and the wider Jewish community. Acts of hatred and antisemitism have no place in Australia and go against the values of respect, compassion, and unity that define our multicultural society.

As medical professionals, we recognise the lasting physical and emotional impact of such tragedies. AIMA stands in solidarity with the Jewish community and reaffirms its commitment to promoting peace, understanding, and community wellbeing.

Please find attached the President’s letter expressing our condolences and support.

🕯️ Our thoughts and prayers are with all those affected

AIMA conducted a health awareness stall at the Naari event! Thank you to ISWA for the opportunity and another successful collaboration with AIMA. This year, AIMA organised a body scanner to check variable parameters for health check along with preventive health pamphlets.

It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces, engage in meaningful conversations about healthy living, and, of course, capture some fun moments together.

A special shoutout to our incredible AIMA youth members—Indu Chowdavarapu, Rhea Shah, Vedika Chauhan, Pooja Ramesh, Nimmat Grewal, Mahi Yogeshkumar Patel, and Prit Nehalkumar Patel. Your enthusiasm and energy truly made the event even more special ❤️

We are also immensely grateful to our senior doctors and AIMA members—Dr. Navkiran Kaur, Dr. Susmita Gosh, Dr. Mala Gera, Dr. Randeep Kaur, Dr. Richa Singh and Dr. Rajni Bansal—for taking the time to support this community health initiative and guide the younger generation 🙏

Looking forward to many more such moments of learning, collaboration, and community spirit!

Kind regards

AIMA- ISWA Breast Cancer Awareness Seminar
On the 13th of October 2024 , a Breast Cancer Awareness Seminar was organised by ISWA in collaboration with the Australian Indian Medical Association (AIMA).
