🥕🥬 A Little Taste of Korea in the Koorda Room! 🇰🇷🥞

Our Koorda Room children at Willetton Childcare had a wonderful time exploring Korean cuisine through a fun and engaging cooking experience! 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳

Before getting started, the children went on an exciting excursion to Coles to explore different vegetables. 🛒🥦 Together, we discussed which vegetables they would like to add to their Korean vegetable pancakes. The children shared their ideas, made choices, and discovered the variety of vegetables available.

Back in the room, it was time to put on our little chef hats and turn our ideas into delicious Korean vegetable pancakes! 🥞 Through this hands-on cooking experience, the children explored different ingredients, practised decision-making, and developed their fine motor skills while learning about food and different cultures.

✨ What a wonderful way to learn through real-life experiences, explore new flavours, and celebrate cultural diversity! ❤️

During our excursion to Agincourt Park, we discovered beautiful hibiscus flowers and lush green leaves! Inspired by Kambarang season, we explored painting the leaves yellow, celebrating the colours of this special time of year.

While rollers and brushes were available, our favourite part was dipping the leaves into the paint, feeling the textures through our fingers and lifting them out again!

Through this sensory experience, children developed their fine motor skills, explored different textures, colours and natural materials, and used their curiosity to investigate cause and effect. We are building our connection with nature, embracing creativity and learning to appreciate the beauty of our environment.

📚 Book Corner – A cosy space to explore stories, develop language, and spark a love for reading.

🎨 Creative Art Area – Encouraging children to express themselves through art, colours, and creativity.

🍳 Home Corner – Inspiring imaginative role-play as children explore everyday experiences through play.

🌿 Sensory Tuff Tray – A special space where children take the lead by creating their own sensory trays, exploring different textures, and using their imagination to design meaningful play experiences.

✨ Every corner has a purpose, creating opportunities for children to make choices, share ideas, develop new skills, and learn at their own pace.

As summer approaches, our Djert children are learning all about sun safety while building independence and confidence. They’re practising applying their own sunscreen and putting on their hats before heading outdoors.

What a truly special day celebrating 40 wonderful years of WCCC. ❤️

This milestone is about so much more than a number, it’s about the children, families, educators and community members who have shared in our journey and helped make WCCC the special place it is today.

A heartfelt thank you to Hall, and for joining us and helping make the day so memorable. We are incredibly grateful for your support and for celebrating this special occasion with our community.

Our 40th Anniversary Community Celebration is happening this Saturday, 3 October, and we would love for you to join us!

Bring along your family and friends and come down to WCCC for a morning of fun, laughter, entertainment and community connection. There will be plenty happening for everyone to enjoy!

Our Annual Art Gallery will also be open!
Come inside and take a wander through our beautiful Art Gallery, showcasing the creativity, imagination and learning of our WCCC children. It’s a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the children’s work and see some of the amazing experiences happening throughout our rooms.
