Good morrow gentlemen,

Hope everyone has been keeping nice and warm, but equally moving the body over the winter period.

We are extremely excited to be announcing some “igniting” spring news soon, but before we do; I’d love to take just a moment to highlight a watershed event coming up in November. An evening that encompasses such a great cause, in which we’d love to see each and every one of you and your wives, partners and friends at with us.

The Human Allegiance is extremely excited, humbled and honoured to be hosting a table at The Starting Lines: Mental Health Gala.

Saturday 09 November | 6:00pm | The Camfield

A one-of-a-kind Mental Health Gala that will leave you feeling empowered and inspired. Dive into powerful stories, visionary ideas, and a transformative experience like no other. This isn’t just an event—it’s a revolution in mental health awareness and support.

Tickets are $249.00 per person if you join our table (that’s a saving of $40.00 off the standard ticket price), which includes:

Firstly, you are not your emotions; just like you are not the thoughts in your head. Let’s seperate the two:
Thoughts are for thinking. Emotions are for feeling.

Back to emotions…

We say you are not your emotions because if you identity AS them: “I am sad”— you victimise and disempower yourself. But rather, see yourself as someone who is experiencing feelings; like waves just washing over you, they’ll come to pass — they’re temporary. Say: “I am feeling sad” or “I have a feeling of sadness”. Identify WITH them; noticing; acknowledging…that’s the first step.

Emotions play a critical role in how we live our lives, from influencing how we engage with others, to affecting our decisions and our behaviour.

Regardless of how you might name emotions or what you feel, it can be useful to understand that they are on a continuum. And neither emotions are “positive” nor “negative”.

Understanding our own emotions also enables us to begin to understand the emotional experience of others, which is a contrbutiion to the ability to empathise.

Slowing down, taking deep breaths, refocusing your thoughts and what you are thinking about, and developing healthy coping strategies can help us become more skilful in emotional mastery.

Remember, all feelings are temporary — and managing them is a skill and a practice. You are human…which means you qualify to feel the full spectrum of emotions.

Did you know that embracing discomfort can significantly elevate both our mental and physical well-being?

When we engage in uncomfortable activities, such as sitting in a tub of ice, we are training our mind to adapt to challenging situations, making future difficulties easier to manage.

Adapting to stressful situations, also benefits the body by boosting immune function, enhancing the bodies ability to recover and resist disease.

The moral of the story?

Allow the discomfort to mold you, not fold you.

It’s very common for men to isolate themselves; especially when we are feeling stuck, lost, somewhat burdensome to others, and lonely.

Isn’t that odd: I feel lonely, and yet, I am choosing to isolate myself; and thus perpetuating loneliness.

That can be a self-destructive and depressive path.

But that path doesn’t serve your growth as a man.

The new path is being forged for you…by men of whom will encourage you, accept you while inspiring you to elevate your standards, uplift you, and support you

…all you have to do is make a decision to get up and get onto it

…and as a result you’ll become a greater version of yourself.

Our self-Image—the image that we have of ourself and how we see ourself—affects everything in our lives.

If you’re wondering what kind of self-image you have, all that’s required is for you to look at the results in your life: Your income and finances, the quality of your relationships, your career, your personal appearance and how you feel on a daily basis to name a few.

These are all results—these are all reflections on the outside of the image we hold on the inside.

What we believe about ourself internally will always show up in our results externally.

If you’re not happy with the results, perhaps it’s time to look inwards?

Am I a healthy, happy person?
Am I confident with myself?
Do I see myself as an admirable and desirable person?
Do I have self-respect?
Do I see myself as a failure?
Do I see myself as someone who is a goal achiever?

These are all questions that contribute to our view of ourself and self-concept, or, who we think we are—the image that we have of ourself in our mind.

As we remake this image on the inside, everything on the outside changes.
