🙏🌟🎉A HUGE THANK YOU TO HEARTLANDS VETERINARY OUTREACH PROGRAM FOR HOSTING OUR 17th Spay Day🎉🌟🙏

In collaboration with the Heartlands Veterinary Hospitals' Veterinary Outreach Program, dedicated veterinary professionals volunteered their time, skills and expertise to desex and microchip as many pets as possible this past weekend.

Held at the brand-new, state-of-the-art Heartlands Veterinary Hospital York, three veterinary teams desexed 35 animals, including 30 Spay It Forward pets🐈🐕

This work will help prevent at least 135 unwanted kittens and 18 unwanted puppies from being born—reducing future animal suffering and giving pets a better chance at a safe, loved life.

Pets travelled from across Perth and the Wheatbelt, including Bruce Rock, Merredin, Nungarin, Northam, Spencer’s Brook and Kellerberrin.

💛 A huge thank you to:

🐾 Dr Olivia, who dedicated countless hours to organising the day, and Dr Tracey, who generously opened her hospital.

🐾 The amazing veterinary professionals who travelled from Perth and across the Wheatbelt to donate their skills.

🐾 Mary, our newest volunteer, who coordinated many Wheatbelt families, and Corry, who drove hundreds of kilometres to get their pets safely to York and home again.

🐾 Michele, who helped Perth families access the program—and bravely drove a very stinky car full of male cats to be desexed and safely returned them home! 😹🚗

We couldn’t do this without our incredible volunteers, veterinary teams and community supporters.
🚨 WE URGENTLY NEED YOUR HELP🚨

We currently have more than 1,000 applications at various stages of processing, and demand continues to grow for our program.

Please support Spay It Forward with a one-off or regular donation through GiveNow:

Together, we can prevent unwanted litters and reduce animal suffering—one Spay Day at a time 💛

🐾🐕🏡COLLABORATION IN ACTION: Keeping Country Families & Pets Together!🏡🐕🐾

We are incredibly excited to share how Spay It Forward and SavourLife's Feed It Forward Campaign run through Petstock are teaming up with some amazing local legends to support the heart of our regional communities! 🌾✨

Through our community contacts, we crossed paths with the incredible Pingelly Youth Centre (PYC)—and we knew right away that our goals aligned perfectly. 🤝 Owned by the Shire of Pingelly and run by the Moorditj Youth Foundation Aboriginal Corporation (MYFAC) in a fantastic joint partnership, this centre is a vital lifeline. From their morning breakfast club for kids on school buses 🚌, to midday community outreach for 17-25 year-olds (including mental health, counselling, and WA Country Health Service) 🩺, to afternoon safe spaces with food assistance and the Parent Pathways program—they do it all! 🌟

"The Youth Centre sees a range of community members and they try to meet the needs of those people at the time, or they will refer services for the benefit of the youth—which includes families and their pets, because pets are family too. They provide consistent, regular support so families don't reach crisis level." 💛

This philosophy is exactly why this connection is so vital. Out here in the country, pets are an integral part of the family—just about everyone has a dog! 🐕 That's why we look at community well-being with the understanding that truly healthy communities can only stem from healthy people, healthy pets, and a healthy environment working in harmony. 🌏✨

While extending our rural pet food help keeps families together at the dinner table 🍽️, Spay It Forward works tirelessly beyond food support. We are on the ground in Pingelly and Brookton bringing vital veterinary care and resources directly to the community, including desexing, microchipping, vaccinations, parasite treatments, and access to essential supplies.

🤝 The Village Making This Possible: This incredible web of support is powered by a dedicated regional network: a wonderful PYC volunteer collects food prepared by Divine You Inc from Narrogin for Pingelly’s youth, while The Honourable Florist delivers non-perishables from PYC to the BOTT Brookton Giving Pantry to secure food for local families and dogs. These vital food logistics and Spay It Forward’s essential veterinary services are made possible through the medical dedication of Heartlands Veterinary Hospitals, crucial grant funding from Community Bank Pingelly and Brookton, our foundational local government partnership with the Shire of Brookton, and the valued support of the Shire of Pingelly.

By providing consistent, proactive support, we can keep pets healthy, families together, and prevent crises before they happen. Thank you to everyone involved in making the Feed It Forward campaign such a tremendous success so far this June! 🐶🎉

At WA Pet Project, we are so proud to partner with SavourLife’s Feed It Forward campaign—because keeping pets and their families together when times get tough is at the heart of everything we do! 🐾💛

Through our Spay It Forward program, we help families access essential desexing and microchipping services. But we also look at the bigger picture! When families apply online, we often discover they are facing immense pressures and desperately need help with everyday essentials, like pet food. 🛒🥣

To help, we regularly refer North of the River families to The Hepburn Centre, where the incredible team at No Limits Perth distributes food relief to vulnerable community members at their monthly hubs in Wanneroo and Joondalup, and via their mobile outreach van in Merriwa. 🚐🤝 No Limits is a true lifeline, often helping families completely relocate due to domestic violence. When fleeing crisis, victims frequently leave with nothing but their children and their pets—because . 🏠🐾

This is why the relationship between SavourLife and Spay It Forward by WA Pet Project. It’s our chance to ensure vulnerable families can get their pets desexed, microchipped, and fed—helping people doing it tough keep their beloved companions at home. The reality on the ground is that at each monthly hub, there is absolutely no pet food left. It all goes💔 The demand is massive, and we need to offer more to help us FEED IT FORWARD this June! 📢✨

When you buy SavourLifeSavourLifeSavourLife dry food at Petstock until the 29th of June, SavourLife will donate a 3kg bag of SavourLife Essentials to community partners like us supporting vulnerable pet families.
