Another major milestone for One Kidney Club Australia. Today, we delivered our Donor Hero Care Packs to Melbourne, Victoria for the first time. New donors in Melbourne Austin Hospital, Melbourne can expect to receive a Donor Hero Care Pack.

Thank you to lovely Helen, one of our new Donors for handing over the packs to the Transplant team at Austin Hospital.

This is Helen's story:
Donated to my brother at Melbourne’s Austin Health on the 18th May. Was an amazing experience from start to finish and I was especially happy with the care and consideration received from my transplant coordinator. Amazing seeing my brother well and able to live his best life possible. We are both doing well. Can’t wait to see many more Melbourne stories and new donors after handing over the Donor Hero Care Packs to my transplant coordinator today. Feeling blessed 😇.

Calling all Kidney Donors. Come show the world that anything is possible with One Kidney.

Kidney Donor Athletes is organizing for a group of Kidney Donors to climb Mt.Kilimanjaro in March-24. If you'd like to join other Donors in this experience of a lifetime, this is your opportunity! Are you interested in forming an Australian group to join this adventure?

In celebration of World Kidney Day, would you like to join us next year to summit Kilimanjaro? The inaugural One Kidney Climb was so successful, we are sending another group in 2024.

Calling all KDAs! Here is the link to apply to join our One Kidney Climb Kilimanjaro which will be March 6-16th, 2024 with a summit day on World Kidney Day. This exciting annual signature event is also a fundraiser for Kidney Donor Athletes! Below are the details and if you have further questions, you can email us at [email protected]

Who: Kidney donors who are in a physical condition to complete the challenge, willing to fundraise for KDA and eager to tell their story through media opportunities.

When: March 6-16th, 2024

Where: Tanzania (Fly in and out of Kilimanjaro airport)

How much: Total trip cost is $5426 which includes: a $1500 fundraising commitment (can be paid personally if you do not want to fundraise), and $3595 Embark costs, $331 administrative charges including at least one piece of KDA/One Kidney Climb gear. Airfare and a few meals in country are NOT included and must be purchased separately.

Another day, another delivery. This time our One Kidney Club Australia Donor Hero Care Packs were delivered to Sir Charles Gardiner Hospital Renal Unit in Perth, WA.

Today one of our wonderful Donors, Brooke delivered our 'Donor Hero Care Packs' to Royal Adelaide Hospital. These will go to all new kidney Donors immediately after their surgery.
This is a small token of appreciation for saving someone's life and to welcome our new Donors to the One Kidney Club!
The pack contains a lot of essentials needed immediately after surgery and some cool swag from us, Transplant Australia , DonateLife , Kidney Health Australia and Kidney Donor Athletes

Our very own, Kara, featured on DonateLife . Thank you Kara for representing all Living donors and raising awareness for Organ Donation 💚

Kara's son Byron was just two years old when he had critical kidney failure. Kara made the decision to donate one of her kidneys to save Byron's life and he is now a happy and healthy four year old 🎂❤️

Kara is sharing her story today as part of the for and encouraging everyone to make sure they’re registered as an organ and tissue donor.
