WA Climate Leaders

28/08/2026

Tuesday night’s lineup of women leading on climate was spectacular.

We were so proud to be able to invite Lucy Piper, Director WorkforClimate, Rikki Hendon, Secretary UnionsWA, Verity Morgan-Schmidt CEO Farmers for Climate Action and Lacey Filipich founder Money School to share the reason and reality of their work for climate.

Beneath a pinkly lit Otto the Whale, the room held some of the best and brightest of our climate end environmental champions alongside a heap of fresh new faces but we were equally captivated by the stories we heard.
Synergy is a thing that can be witnessed in real time in conversations like this and we were taken across the spectrum of emotional range by our guests.

Thanks for Climate WA for believing in Everyone’s Climate Series – I’m so sorry I scheduled this when none of you could come Jessica Panegyres Michelle Grady Mika Leandro Manisha Gordon-Menon Sarah Twyford Luke Hutcheson.

To Lily Jovic and Amilia Bakhtiar, WA Climate Leaders board members, thank you for being the greatest welcomers and logistics wranglers.

Thanks to Marnie Richardson Photographer for these images and the stunning lead image for the series, and to Jack McAuliffe for our very cool branding, and to Alec Coles for your support of this event

The whole gallery of beautiful images will be available on the WA Climate Leaders website.

Thanks everyone who came – you are so appreciated. Until next time.

Want to know how to work for climate?

Ask Lacey Filipich

With two decades experience as an employee, trainer and consultant in the resources industry (including coal, oil and gas), Lacey is the first to say she has the most unlikely path to climate advocacy. But as founder of Money School, when she started to explore the impacts of climate change on finances...the path was clear.

Hear Lacey speak more about her work and philosophy at WA Museum Boola Bardip on Tuesday August 25 in the latest event in Everyone's Climate Series.

Presented by WA Climate Leaders and Solutions for Climate WA, this conversation is set to inspire everyone, regardless of their stage of study or career. We'd love to see you there.
