We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who attended our Chinese New Year Dinner last Saturday! Held at one of our favourite restaurants, Malaysian Dining Delights, the evening was filled with joy, laughter, and a wonderful sense of community.

There are many people to thank and mention, especially everyone who generously donated gifts for our raffle! Your support made the event even more special.

A huge thank you to Cyril from Millennium Minerals for the stunning Argyle Pink Diamond! 💎

We also want to express our gratitude to Sam Lim MP for his support. Your presence means a lot to us.

Additionally, we are proud to support the Junior Lion Dance Club in preserving Chinese culture. The talented children aged 9 to 13 years old, have shown incredible dedication, with most only having trained for 2–3 months. Their performance was a testament to their hard work and passion. 🦁🎶

A heartfelt thank you goes out to our committee who worked tirelessly to organise such a great event and to our fabulous MC Nicole Tan for keeping the energy high throughout the night!

Yesterday afternoon we held our first committee meeting for 2026, generously hosted at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry WA HQ.

It was a pleasure to welcome Madam Nur Eliza Jemal, Malaysian Consul-General, as our AMBCWA Patron, and to also be joined earlier by Sam Lim MLA. Their presence reinforced the importance of strong people-to-people and government-to-business connections that underpin our bilateral relationship.

Our discussions centred on trade and investment opportunities between Western Australia and Malaysia, spanning energy transition, critical minerals, education, agri-business, and advanced manufacturing.

Malaysia remains Western Australia’s 𝗻𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗵 𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿, with two-way trade valued at approximately $6.4 billion and continuing to grow. The outlook is strong, with clear appetite on both sides to deepen collaboration and unlock new commercial opportunities.

Vice President Nicole Tan sat down with Quentin Lau from Summit Homes Group, one of Western Australia’s largest and longest-standing residential building organisations.

With 𝟰𝟴 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 of family-owned history, Summit Homes has grown into a powerhouse across new homes, renovations, modular builds, granny flats, tiny homes, and more.

Quentin, who has been with the group for 26 years, shared insights into Summit Developments, the division specialising in land redevelopment, subdivisions and multi-unit projects, including developments of up to 𝟭𝟬𝟰 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘀.

Our President Bernard Chia and committee member Kirsty Thomas attended the Success and Leadership Breakfast with David Tsai, hosted by Business News at Crown Perth this morning.
