✨ Saving Lives in Kisumu: One $10 Mosquito Net at a Time
When I close my eyes at night, I sleep safely — without fear of what might come buzzing in the dark.
But in Kisumu, Kenya, many mothers can’t do that. They lie awake, listening for the sound that could steal their child’s life.
That’s why we started Nets for Nights.
A simple, powerful mission: to protect children from malaria — one mosquito net, one family, one night at a time.
Since we began our work, Hopeshill Projects has helped distribute over 10,500 mosquito nets through our partnership with Lead Mission Kenya, led by my lifelong friend Natalie Odipo.
Each net costs just $10 and can protect a child for up to three years.
That’s three years of safety.
Three years of peaceful sleep.
Three years of hope.
I’ve seen firsthand what these nets mean to families.
A mother receiving her first net doesn’t just take home a piece of fabric — she takes home peace.
She finally gets to rest.
Her child gets to wake up healthy enough to learn, play, and dream.
And an entire community moves one step closer to freedom from malaria.
This is why we do what we do. 💛
And here’s the part that still amazes me:
You don’t have to travel to Africa to save a life.
You can be part of this mission right where you are — in your home, on your phone, with one simple act of kindness.
