✨ Ever heard of PCAF Academy? ✨

It’s our free monthly professional development hangout where local comic makers share their skills, tips and hard-won wisdom with the Perth community. Whether you’re just starting out or deep in the trenches, it’s a top chance to learn the craft, meet your people and make new mates.
These sessions run for 2 hours, on almost every first Sunday of the month.

✏ FEB 1 | Story Crafting & Workflow - Making Memories Magic
with Sally Henderson
Learn how to turn personal memories into fresh story ideas, connect emotion to audience, and build stronger narratives. Sally will break down story structure used in films like How to Train Your Dragon, plus run a hands-on exercise based on emotion-driven storytelling taught to Disney and DreamWorks recruits.

✏ MAR 1 | Feedback Sessions
with The Illo Club
Bring your works in progress and get constructive feedback from peers. You’ll also learn how to give and receive useful critique that actually helps move your project forward. More details coming soon, so start getting those scripts and ideas ready.

Good to know:
PCAF Academy is a community meetup for adults. Under 18s are welcome with a guardian.

Feb location: Geographe Room, ground floor, State Library of WA (fully accessible)
Mar location: Great Southern Room, 4th floor, State Library of WA. If you can’t use stairs from Level 3, ask at the info desk for staff elevator access.
