Rising Sound WA is a Not-For-Profit organisation run by a team of passionate musicians, focused on contributing to the musical landscape of our local and regional communities. Founded by, and composed of, a passionate and dedicated team with a wealth of experience across the music, entertainment and event-management industries, Blue Arts Fly is on course to establish itself as a dynamic and succes

sful Not-For-Profit organisation focused on contributing to the cultural landscape of our local communities. Maintaining a strong emphasis on promoting local artists and activating spaces both public and private, our love of music and the creative arts has driven us exclusively thus far, and we take pride in a successful history of planning, promoting and producing high-quality live music events over recent years. The official introduction of the Blue Arts Fly collective is the next logical step as we progress towards our common goal –
To consistently curate inclusive social-events throughout all seasons of the year, creating memorable occasions that bring together people from all walks of life. To remind people that music is the great leveller, it is a language that transcends borders and boundaries, and a gift that we give to one another as we celebrate our diversity and the common ground upon which we stand.

Who is Rising Sound? Part 2.
Meet Mo Johanna aka Siân. Our CEO and Co-founder. Siân and Jon Elbery started Rising Sound (formerly Blue Arts Fly) back in 2019.
Siân started her musical career a little later in life at the age of 35 but it was all “go” from there.
Siân played with Jon in a couple of long running bands in the Perth Hills. She started up Ladybird MUSIC which was a business comprising of recording, tuition, promotion and events. Siân got fed up driving down the hill to go see cool bands play so decided to bring a little life to hills. She started with “Live at the Kala”, monthly lineups at the Kala Hotel that honestly, went off! There was a Summer Sundowner at Araluen, Live at the Spire. The list went on and on but Siân wanted more for the artists. Better pay. Bigger opportunities. So, with a big help from Jon, Rising Sound was born.
She now curates the Saturday Sessions at Midland Records, and Rising Sound Sessions and has a bunch of other crazy/cool ideas in the pipeline.
Siân continues to buzz with passion and loves being on the ground, making music happen.

Who is Rising Sound?
Who are the faces behind the name?
Meet our President, Jon Elbery. There’s no one else I could possibly introduce first.
You can have all the brilliant ideas in the world but if you haven’t got a person who knows how to execute them, then you haven’t got anything. Jon is that person. He crosses all our t’s and dots all our i’s and actually seems to enjoy it!
Jon has been a musician and music lover forever and has been to just about every cool festival or concert you can think of. He’s always got an entertaining story to tell. Starting his journey in London as a drummer, Jon has been everywhere but somehow ended up in the Kalamunda region where he forged some lasting friendships, bands and connections in high places. Jon also sits on the board of the Kalamunda Chamber of Commerce and is heavily involved in his local community.
Jon has been committed to enriching the Perth music scene and continues to steer this ship of ours to bring more amazing events and artists to you.

Get excited cause it’s another cracker!!

This Saturday August 8th we have musical goddess Moana Mayatrix followed by the instrumental wizardry of Vissac.

We’re very excited for this one! 🙌

Moana Mayatrix is a a Māori-Australian multi-disciplinary, multi-genre artist best known for work as a singer, musician, performer and all-round creative. Through her original songs, Moana draws audiences into mystical, spiritual, emotional - and sometimes dangerous - storytelling journeys that traverse folk, blues, soul, and rock.

Vissac is an instrumental band hailing from Walyalup/Fremantle, WA. They combine the sophistication of jazz with the raw energy of progressive rock to create a captivating sound that rejuvenates instrumental music for modern audiences.

What’s on at Midland Records this August, I hear you ask? Get excited cause it’s another cracker!!
August 8th we have musical goddess Moana Mayatrix followed by the instrumental wizardry of Vissac. We’re very excited for this one! 🙌
Then later on in the month, on 22nd August we have Arturo and Blu Minnou. They may not be taggable but doesn’t mean they’re not exceptional.
