On Thursday, 21 May, our office had the pleasure of attending the Law Week 2026 Voices for Justice Lunch, a community event celebrating the individuals and organisations who work tirelessly to make justice more accessible across Western Australia.

This year’s theme, Voices for Justice, highlighted the importance of advocacy, collaboration, and the ongoing pursuit of a fairer legal system. We were privileged to hear from a range of inspiring speakers who are deeply committed to social justice, advocating not only for their clients, but also for broader legal reform and systemic change.

Events like this serve as an important reminder of the collective responsibility we share as legal professionals to uphold access to justice and contribute positively to our community.

Thank you to the The Law Society of Western Australia for organising the lunch and the speakers for an engaging and thought-provoking afternoon. We are proud to stand alongside so many dedicated professionals working to strengthen our legal system.

We were proud to see our Solicitor Taylah Bell contributing to the final report of the Social Security for Women Outside Our City series, released by Economic Justice Australia. The report was launched earlier this month at Parliament House.

"What this report highlights...is a huge cohort of people who need to access social security payments, and who are entitled to them, but can't. These are women who are in deeper financial crisis simply because the system has not been designed to adequately deal with their circumstances," said EJA CEO Kate Allingham.

Changes to the residential tenancy bond release process are now in place WA.

These reforms are intended to reduce delays, minimise costs, and streamline the bond release process.

For many people on income support, delays or disputes over bond money can significantly impact their ability to secure new housing.
