Uchina Junior Study 2026 🌺We received a beautiful reflection from M-chan, a participant from Perth Okinawa Kenjinkai, about her experience in the Uchina Junior Study program. 🌺
Through learning about Okinawa’s history and culture, visiting historical sites, and meeting young Uchinānchu from around the world, she discovered a deeper meaning of what it means to be Uchinānchu.
One of her most memorable moments was gathering around a campfire, singing and dancing together. Although everyone came from different countries and spoke different languages, they felt connected through their shared love for Okinawa.
M-chan said the experience gave her a stronger connection to her Okinawan roots and friendships that will last beyond the program.

We also received a lovely reflection from M-chan’s mum about the program.
As a mother, she was so happy to see M-chan grow in confidence and independence through this experience.
She was especially touched by the friendships formed between young Uchinānchu from different countries, who became like a family through their shared connection to Okinawa.
It was a truly special and unforgettable experience for M-chan, and we are very grateful to everyone who made this opportunity possible. 🙏😍💖
