ANZAC DAY this year was observed firstly at the evening service at Watervale where MHHS secretary Mal Paterson read the Ode .
Then on Sunday a special ANZAC service was held in the Church of St Mark in Penwortham.
The Bishop of Willochra Jeremy James and Reverend Sandra Bryson led the service.
Leonie Moore from the Clare RSL, gave an interesting presentation which included letters her uncle Len wrote to his sister during WW1
Marjorie Smart read out the names of soldiers from Penwortham who died during the wars.

The annual Carol service was held in the old Church of St Mark tonight.
Reverand Sandra and Bishop Jeremy James presided. It was a lovely service of Readings and Carols. The congregation pausded to remember the terrible event’s that had happened at Bondi a few days prior. Leonie Moore and her musicians played a Hanukkah song and Bishop Jeremy explained the meaning of the Jewish festival. In the aftermath of the shootings the Anglican Church located some 80metres from the massacre provided sanctuary for people affected by the events.Following the service everyone enjoyed fellowship and supper in the cool evening outside the church.
