Our 'Fresh Start Go!' Penrith DV Support program exists to serve every Domestic, Family & Sexual Violence service in our region.

As a nine-year Member of the Nepean Domestic Violence Network, through partnering services we have access to assist every woman and child in local refuges, shelters and case management programs, plus the ones staying in our '1000 Safe Sleeps' crisis accommodation program.

🔥This Winter we have committed to keep all these precious people WARM.

😃We're receiving new or like-new essentials:
Blankets / Pyjamas
Beanies / Scarves
Gloves / Socks

🔥Items can be dropped off at our Kingswood Op Shop (10 Bringelly Rd), Penrith Christian School, Imagine Nations Church or contact [email protected] for bulk pickups!)

So often the simple things in life are some of the most special.

When our friends from Nepean Shores and the Taste of Everything social group in Glenmore Park heard that we were low on 'approved toys' for our Hospital CareKits, both groups immediately went to work handcrafting these beautiful items.

We have been providing CareKits to Social Worker teams at the Nepean Hospital for over 15 years - and community engagement like this makes it extra special! ❤️

The past 12 months has seen a distinct increase in people sleeping rough in Penrith.
⭐️ While we visit some of these, our friends from the DCJ Homes NSW Mobile Outreach Team visit every known/reported/found rough sleeping homeless person in our region.

It is an honour to provide this Awesome team with practical resources every year - and right now as a key focus of our it is anything WARM🔥

We must throw a Mega-Shoutout to our friends at the Amazon Fulfilment Centre via the admirable Lenya Betteridge who have provided over 5,000 mixed toiletry packs and other Emergency Relief items that we have distributed across our region in the lead-up to Christmas and then again recently!

⭐ In a time of seemingly unparalleled basic human needs shortages amongst vulnerable locals, we have spread this love across Domestic & Family Violence refuges and services, Rough Sleeper visitation teams, multiple Benevolent Organisations, local recently-arrived Refugees, Homeless feeding services, Elderly Indigenous, Disability services, War widows and low socio-economic Returned Servicemen, Mental Health activities, Aboriginal Family Preservation teams, Youth Welfare services, Chaplains and numerous others.

So to Lenya and the Amazing Amazon Crew: !

The local Community sector knows too well what happens when the temperature drops: Kids get cold.
For all kinds of reasons.☺️

🔥Our goal every Winter is to get those little ones warm - That decisions made between buying food, or warm clothes for growing babies and children are made easier.

A fabulous catchup celebrating some Magnificent Human Beings today ~ our wonderful Volunteers!

There are 'Many Hands of WestCare' - and we heard from seven Volunteers who serve in very different WestCare activities.❤️

And it was great to hear from three Board Members and our Director Andrew.

❤️This afternoon we just picked up a van full of hundreds of adorable items lovingly made & donated by our VERY special friends at Nepean Shores!

❤️Every one of these LOVELY WARM items will be distributed to the most vulnerable local people we can find this Winter.
