A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for the inaugural Insider Series with the wonderful Nat Gatt Brand Studio .

Nat shared invaluable insights on brand clarity, marketing strategy and creating a business that truly connects with its audience, giving attendees plenty of practical takeaways to apply immediately.

Thanks to your support, we were also able to raise $260 for this month's chosen member charity, Cancer Wellness Support.

👏 Thank you to Nat for generously sharing her expertise and helping us launch this new event series.

👏 A huge thanks to Coach Anil Puri who hosted the event fantastically, and will be our host for the series ongoing.

👏 And a shout out to Cancer Wellness Support for the incredible work you do supporting individuals and families impacted by cancer.

The Insider Series was designed to bring practical knowledge, meaningful conversations and community impact together in one place. Seeing our members learn, connect and give back at the same time is exactly what this series is all about.

Western Sydney is growing — and our transport network needs to grow with it. 🚆

Last Friday, the Chamber joined Penrith City Council for the announcement of its new Public Transport Position Paper, outlining priorities to improve connectivity across Penrith and Western Sydney.

From extending Metro services to Western Sydney Airport, to more frequent buses and better connections between homes, jobs and transport — the paper is about making sure our growing region can keep moving.

Growth and opportunity only works if people can actually get where they need to go — efficiently, reliably and affordably.

For us, this isn’t just a transport issue. It’s an economic one.

We had an incredible night at our Chamber Connect last week.

Wonderful company. Check
And a teaser screening of a brand new documentary centred around our Nepean River that has been developed by Made in the West Creative.

We also saw Penrith City Council's Draft "Our River Plan" soon-to-be on public exhibition, creating an opportunity to better understand the vision for one of our region's greatest natural assets.

Using the ATO as a “lender”? Here’s what many business owners don’t realise…

Chamber member, Gavin King from Mackay Goodwin has worked with 1000+ business owners, one pattern shows up time and time again and that is when cash flow gets tight, tax often gets pushed aside.

On the surface, it can seem like a manageable option.

The ATO’s General Interest Charge sits around 12% (compounding daily) and often lower than credit cards or high‑interest loans.

But the real risk isn’t just the interest. Here’s what business owners need to know:

1. Personal liability is real
PAYG, super and GST debts don’t just sit with the business, they sit with you as the director. These obligations can follow you long‑term.

2. Your compliance history matters
Late lodgements and unpaid tax can limit your ability to negotiate payment plans or relief. The ATO looks closely at past behaviour.

3. The ATO can act (and fast!)
Through garnishee notices, the ATO can access funds directly from your bank account at any time.

Penrith City Council, with funding support from the NSW EPA, is supporting local businesses through the “Go FOGO” program, a free initiative designed to prepare businesses for these changes and help reduce waste, improve efficiency and lower operating costs.

Under the NSW FOGO Business mandate, relevant businesses are now required to:

👉Separate food waste from general waste;
👉Have a FOGO waste collection service from 1 July 2026.

To find out if you are required to separate your food waste use the NSW EPA FOGO business mandates calculator.

Council would like to help your transition to FOGO and support your business in every step of the way through:
👉In-person and online workshops
👉On-site waste assessments
