🎶 Monday, Monday ……🎶 Mama Cass said it all. I cannot believe that Monday Morningitis is a thing because it certainly doesn’t happen here in 2750!

Crafting, organising, plotting, planning, perpetrating 😉. It’s all such fun!

Glenyce was our fascinating guest speaker. An ordinary person doing amazingly extraordinary things, making a difference and changing lives. We had a delightful boxed morning tea (with no plates to wash up!), lucky door prizes and our Mothers Day Raffle was drawn. What a delightful way to spend a Monday morning!

After a rugged, exhausting general meeting the ladies continued on their mission to sew medical device bags for our local palliative care patients.
This is just one more string to our bow!

Monday 13th April, 2026.

❓Why CWA ❓….. 🤔 Well, ….

🌻 1. there’s nothing like walking into a room and being greeted by name, with happy smiles from people who are honestly glad to see you.
🌻 2. Crafting with like minded people where anything and everything you make is seen as normal.
🌻 3. Enjoying a cuppa and a biscuit/cake with genuine friends.
🌻 4. Knowing in your heart that if you need a 0.6, 0.8 or 1mm crochet hook with a round head, not an angular head, that someone in the room has exactly what you need and is happy to lend.
🌻 5. Having a table big enough to cut out large pattern pieces because your own kitchen table is covered with things that should have been “put away” far too long ago.
🌻 6. Having several friends ask “how are you?” while they sit beside you waiting for the answer. This is especially heart warming after having open heart 💗surgery. It’s much easier bouncing back when you have friends who care.

That’s just a few reasons why ……. we choose to be part of our local CWA!

💚💚💚 and isnt Nia’s crochet coat stunning! 💚💚💚

CWA Penrith Branch

The “Original Influencers” were at it again, just as they have done since 20/04/1922. Working and influencing for the betterment of women and as a result families, all those around them, and the country as a whole isn’t easy yet the CWA just keep doing it year after year. What drives them? What keeps them together?
We are all linked in some strange way, no matter where we live, what we do, or who we are.
LINKS of FRIENDSHIP INITIATIVE? 19cm x 3.5cm, double layer of felt, and decorated! ………. with what you may ask? The answer is - whatever you choose. Embroidery (hand or machine), beads, ribbon, sequins, tatting, knitting, crochet, the edge of an old doily, the pretty gathered selvedge from grand daughters latest dress, …… anything and everything can be adopted, adapted and manipulated to fit.
TRANSPORT - just drop it into the handicraft suitcase or hand them to someone going to conference.

Don’t forget to stitch your name, branch and date inside.

Please make sure everything is stitched together. It appears that anything glued suffers “The Stradivarius Curse” and comes undone under pressure. Yes, that glue is around 450 years old and is still holding - with intervention. Our desired goal is to have our links stay together for much longer than one conference……. but not 450 years! Happy embellishing!

Monday, 23/03/26 As the weather changes so does the atmosphere at CWA Penrith Branch. Items are ready for the handicraft competition, the suitcase is ready, judges are ready, the craft cupboards are ready. We all seem to be “getting ready” for what happens next, be that conference, judging, the next Ag Show, the next stall, the next recipe, the next jar of Whisky Marmalade or the next baby to be born.
I am sure CWA is secret code for “ready”.

PSA CWA Penrith Branch
Monday, 16th March, 2026.

We had 15 members plus two new wonderful members - welcome Carol and Nikki.
There are NO photos today because Penrith was in stealth mode. We were busy sorting items for the State Handicraft Suitcase - filling out forms, adding samples, labels and slivers of yarn. It was extremely serious business. The only part resembling fun was a plate of 4 items of food and we weren’t even allowed to sample that!
I hope we go back to normal crafting next week! It was hard work today.
