What an incredible result for this year’s Carp to Croc Competition! 🎣🐊

With 150 competitors taking part across the Central Coast, an amazing 456 carp were removed from our local waterways — helping improve the health of our rivers and lakes while supporting our local environment.

Even better, around half of the carp caught are now being put to good use as feed for the Crocodiles and Alligators at the Australian Reptile Park! A fantastic example of sustainability and community collaboration in action.

A huge thank you to everyone who participated and helped make the event such a success. Special thanks to:
👏 Central Coast Council and Mayor Lawrie McKinna
👏 BCF Australia — especially the Tuggerah and Erina stores
👏 Australian Reptile Park

Your support, coordination, and commitment to our environment and community made this event possible.

Congratulations to all the prize winners!

We’re already looking forward to next year! 💚

Have your say on the future of recreational fishing in NSW

The NSW Government is developing the Enhancing Recreational Fishing in NSW Action Plan 2026 to 2031, which is a five-year roadmap designed to make fishing even better for everyone who enjoys getting out on the water.

Recreational fishing supports local communities, improves wellbeing and connects people with our waterways. Fishers now have the chance to help shape what comes next, with community feedback open until 24 April 2026.

If you fish, run a fishing business, belong to a club, or simply care about the future of our fisheries, you can have your say in the link below.

🌊🐟 OzFish Central Coast Chapter – Looking Ahead to 2026! 🐟🌊
We’re excited to share our plans for 2026, and it’s shaping up to be a big year for local fish habitat and community action on the Central Coast!
Here’s what’s coming up:
♻️ Quarterly Clean-Ups – regular hands-on events to remove litter and debris from our waterways and keep fish habitat healthy.
🏡 Pimp My Jetty – working with local jetty owners to retrofit structures with fish-friendly habitat and improve biodiversity below the waterline.
🌱 Invasive W**d Removal – tackling problem weeds that choke our rivers and estuaries, helping native plants and fish thrive.
Whether you’re keen to get your hands dirty, learn something new, or just meet like-minded locals who care about our waterways, there’ll be plenty of ways to get involved.
👉 Keep an eye on our page for event dates and details, and if you’d like to volunteer or partner with us in 2026, we’d love to hear from you!
Together, we can make a real difference for fish and waterways on the Central Coast. 💙🐠
