Well that’s it .. our last day and we are heading home to Perth to the finish line. It’s been awesome driving through outback and visiting some iconic places . Langley Park here we come 🇦🇺

Well we made it across SA and was lovely to be back in WA … 2 cars have died but 🐝 has been awesome and we are just a day away from the finish line . But for tonight we have another big drive to Southern Cross 🖤

Caiguna is situated in a remote and sparsely populated area of Western Australia, approx 380 kms west of the South Australia-Western Australia border and around 826 kilometres east of the city of Perth. It is part of the vast Nullarbor Plain, known for its arid and flat landscape.

Caiguna serves as a gateway to the Outback for travellers embarking on cross-country road trips between Western Australia and South Australia.

Another long day today only got into camp at 7pm but Bumble Bee made it to Penong. Lots of cars in sick bay tonight. Next stop our home WA 🇦🇺

DAY 5 - COOBER PEDY TO PENONG VIA KINGOONYA, SMOKY BAY AND CEDUNA

Penong is situated on the Eyre Highway, approximately 73 kilometres west of Ceduna, the
largest town on the Eyre Peninsula. It is surrounded by rural landscapes, including farmland and coastal areas.

Penong is home to the Penong Windmill Museum, which showcases a collection of historic windmills. The museum celebrates the role of windmills in providing water for agricultural purposes in the region's arid climate.

Big day today - Yulara to Coober Pedy 733 km . Had a great day , no break downs . Went to some pretty awesome outback pubs including the Desert Cave under ground pub which was on our bucket list ✅

Bumble Bee made it to Oodnadatta alive , however very late due to 2 tyre blow outs and rear strut . But we had great food and entertainment at the Oonnadatta racing track. On to Yulara !

Tonight, the participants will enjoy the stunning ‘Field of Light Dinner’ in Black Tie attire.

Yulara is situated in the southern part of the Northern Territory, approximately 450 kms southwest of Alice Springs. It serves as the gateway to Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, home to the iconic natural landmarks of Uluru (formerly known as Ayers Rock) and Kata Tjuta (also known as the Olgas).

The Field of Light is an immersive light-based art installation created by internationally acclaimed artist Bruce Munro. It features over 50,000 individual stems of light, each topped with a radiant, colourful bulb, spread across an area of approximately seven football fields.

The installation is set against the backdrop of Uluru and the vast desert landscape, creating
a mesmerizing visual spectacle.

Dining amidst the illuminated stems of light in the heart of the Australian outback provides
a truly unforgettable setting for the meal.

As the sun sets and the desert sky darkens, the
Field of Light comes to life in a kaleidoscope of colours, casting an ethereal glow over the
landscape.
