Probus 50th Anniversary Combined Clubs Gala Dinner 🎉

✨Celebrating 50 Years of Probus in Australia 🥂

On Saturday, 10 October, nine Tasmanian Probus clubs came together at the Penguin Football Club to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Probus in Australia. It was a memorable evening of friendship, fellowship and celebration, bringing together members who share a common appreciation of the values of Probus. 💙

✨ An Evening of Celebration

Master of Ceremonies Ian Lancaster guided guests through the evening’s programme, which began with an informative presentation by Ian Chalk on the origins of Probus.

Before the formal proceedings commenced, guests enjoyed pre-dinner drinks and the opportunity to have their photographs taken on arrival. 📸 A delicious two-course dinner followed, with representatives from several clubs sharing a few words between courses and during the prize draws. 🍽️

🌟A Team Effort

The success of the evening was the result of many months of planning and preparation. The organising committee—Karen O’Reilly, Ruth Marshall, Aileen French, Sue Radford and Sam Samec—worked tirelessly to bring the event together, and their efforts are gratefully acknowledged. 👏

The Penguin Football Club provided an excellent venue, with welcoming and helpful staff. The catering was outstanding, with generous servings and attentive service throughout the evening.

Several clubs added a personal touch by decorating their own tables, creating a festive and inviting atmosphere. 🌸 Special thanks go to Barbara Croft for her wonderful efforts in decorating Penguin Probus’s three tables, as well as to everyone who assisted with the decorating and the many other tasks behind the scenes.

💫 A Memorable Milestone

Bringing nine clubs together in one place to celebrate this significant milestone was a wonderful achievement. The evening highlighted the value of friendship, fellowship and social connection, and demonstrated why Probus continues to play such an important role in the lives of its members and the wider community. ❤️

Fifty years of Probus is a milestone worth celebrating, and this special evening was a fitting tribute to the friendships and connections that make Probus so valued.

🍽️ Wednesday Lunch at Lanigan’s! 🥂

What a fantastic turnout! 17 of our members got together yesterday for a wonderful lunch at Lanigan’s Winery. 🌿☀️

With gorgeous views, delicious food and plenty of laughs and conversation, it was a great way to spend a Wednesday! Many thanks to Doug for the great photography ☺️
