What a fantastic turnout at tonight’s Pemberton Chamber General Meeting, with around 45 local business owners and community representatives joining us.

A big thank you to everyone who came along, and especially to Shire President Donelle Buegge, Shire CEO Ben Rose, and Councillors Wade DeCampo and Dean Phillips for taking the time to chat with our business community and give everyone the opportunity to ask questions and have an open discussion.

🥑 A major investment in the future of the South West

Congratulations to The Avocado Collective on the official opening of its upgraded avocado packing facility - now the largest of its kind in Australia.

This is an exciting milestone not only for TAC, but for our wider South West business and agricultural community.

Investment of this scale demonstrates confidence in our region, supports local industry and employment, and strengthens the South West’s reputation as a producer of premium food and agricultural products.

It’s fantastic to see businesses in our region continuing to innovate, invest and grow - creating opportunities that flow well beyond their own doors.

Each year, on the last Saturday in October we all celebrate WA Small Business Day.

It's all of our opportunity to recognise, thank and support our incredible small businesses all over Regional WA. We know that small businesses make an enormous contribution in every way to their community and region in Regional WA and we appreciate everything they do.

Council meets in Pemberton this Wednesday

The Shire of Manjimup’s Ordinary Council Meeting is scheduled for 5:30 pm Wednesday, 29 July 2026 at the Jarrah room - Pemberton Sports Club.

🌳As we close out the 2025-26 financial year, we are proud to reflect on the momentum our Chamber has built and the tangible wins delivered for our community.

🌟Securing a private meeting with our local MP - Driving real conversations about Pemberton's assets and governance. Discussed at the meeting were some of the town priorities including:
Concluding the transition from timber to new industries and giving back Pemberton the power to manage Key Assets:
- Mill Site safety control, redevelopment and surrounding land activation 👷
- The Old School multi-party lease's future to return in Pemberton's hands 🎓
- The Retirement Village on crown land to be released to home owners 🏡
- Shothole Borer discussions to protect our assets
- Advocating for safe and ongoing town access via key entry points
These discussions were critical in ensuring Pemberton's history and needs are understood at a State level and that our town's economic transition remains firmly on the agenda.

Our Chamber created and delivered the Pemberton Avocado Festival, elevating local producers, attracting new visitors, and showcasing the strength of our region's agricultural identity.
❤︎︎The numbers speak for themselves.
For a town of just 900 residents, the festival welcomed 3,500+ attendees, injecting a major boost into the local economy. Several stallholders reported sales increases of up to 300% on the day, demonstrating the festival's growing impact and value for small businesses.

From the Gloucester Tree to our trails and recreation spaces, PCCI actively supported advocacy efforts to secure investment, maintenance, and stakeholder alignment for Pemberton's key tourism assets. These are the experiences that bring people here - and keep them coming back.

This is exciting news!

❄️It's a chilly start to the week, but we're kicking Monday off with a local opportunity that could help improve important freight routes across our district.

Funding may be available to help improve local roads used for transporting timber, agricultural products, lime and other commodities.

The Shire of Manjimup is exploring opportunities through the Commodity Routes Fund and would like to hear from local businesses and industry operators who rely on our road network.

If there's a section of road that affects your operations, now is the time to start a conversation.
