🎉YOU ARE INVITED to a free community evening TONIGHT celebrating the volunteers who help keep local communities connected, supported and resilient. 🥰
Hosted by the Pemberton YES Cadets as part of National Volunteer Week, the event will feature a free community BBQ, raffles and fundraising stalls, emergency services vehicles on display, and a screening of the locally produced documentary Local Knowledge. 🎥
The evening will also provide an opportunity for volunteer organisations and community groups from across the Southern Forests region to set up information stalls, connect with community members, share how people can get involved locally, and fundraise. ✨
“In small regional communities, volunteers are part of almost every aspect of community life — emergency services, sport, schools, arts, community groups and local events,” Mr Copeland said.
“We wanted to create something relaxed and welcoming that brings people together, celebrates that contribution, and helps people discover the many ways they can get involved locally.”
The documentary Local Knowledge explores the importance of volunteering in emergency services and highlights the people, relationships and local knowledge that help rural communities function.
