Pascoe Vale Food Collective

Pascoe Vale Food Collective Monthly Food Co-op in Pascoe Vale, run by volunteers. Low waste, bulk buying for residents of Pascoe Vale and surrounding suburbs. All welcome!!

Good quality, cheaper and healthier. Second Saturday of each month 9.30-11.30am Our volunteer, community run Food Collective sources grocery and cleaning products in bulk and provides these items for distribution to members and visitors on a monthly distribution day. We are open on the second Saturday of the month, every month from 9:30 until 11:30. We are located at the Pascoe Vale Senior Citizen

s Centre, which is located in James Reserve at 33A Prospect St, Pascoe Vale. The site has a dual frontage - so either walk through the park from the corner of Prospect and Archibald Streets, or head for the corner of Norton and Camdon Streets and you will see the hall. We aim to provide items at low cost and with minimal or no packaging. We encourage the community to bring their own containers for filling - but always have clean jars and paper bags on hand to make the process easy! The Pascoe Vale Food Collective is auspiced by Sussex Neighbourhood House. This Project is supported and funded by the Moreland City Council Community Grants Program and the Inner North Community Foundation. We acknowledge we operate on the lands of the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung, the traditional owners and custodians of the hills, valleys and waterways adjacent to the Moonee Moonee Creek, and we pay our respects to their Elders: past, present and emerging.

Tomorrow is Distribution Dayโ€ฆ and this one feels extra special.

Not only are we opening the doors for another Pascoe Vale Food Collective distribution day, weโ€™re also celebrating five whole years of this little community food co-op.

Five years of neighbours bringing containers.
Five years of sharing affordable food.
Five years of people showing up for each other.

What started as a simple idea โ€” buying good food in bulk and sharing it with the community โ€” has grown into something really special. A room full of reusable jars, friendly faces, volunteers weighing out oats and rice, people swapping recipes and catching up while they shop.

And tomorrow we get to do it all again.

If youโ€™ve never been before, hereโ€™s how it works:
Bring your containers, bring a bag, and come stock up on pantry staples without the supermarket price tag or the excess packaging. Everything is sold at cost, run by volunteers, and powered by the local community.

If youโ€™ve been coming for years โ€” thank you. Youโ€™re the reason weโ€™re celebrating five years of the Pascoe Vale Food Collective.

So come by tomorrow, say hello, fill a jar or two, and help us celebrate this little grassroots movement that keeps growing.

Five years inโ€ฆ and it still feels like the beginning.

See you tomorrow.

You donโ€™t need to buy seperate products just a blender.
Fantastic tip from one of our members. All sugar is is different levels of blending. You can even add other things like molasses to sugar to create dark brown sugar.

Things to Bring to Feb Distribution Day (So You Can Shop Like a Pro)
Hey local foodies, slow-living souls, and eco legends ๐ŸŒฟโœจ

Our next Pascoe Vale Food Collective market is around the corner and weโ€™re here to help you show up ready to scoop, save, and connect.

Hereโ€™s what to bring to make the most of your co-op experience:

1. Clean Containers (the quirky, the cute, the ice-cream-tub-turned-lentil-holder)
Weโ€™re all about reducing waste and making your pantry look adorable. Bring jars, tubs, or even that funky vintage tin you found at Savers. Everything gets weighed before you shop, so no need to stress.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Pro tip: Label your containers at home with what you plan to fill them with. It saves you time at the weighing table!

2. A Shopping List (or a curious spirit)
Staples like rice, oats, beans, and lentils are always on hand. Planning a zero-waste dinner? Bring a listโ€”or wing it and get inspired by the goods on offer!

๐Ÿ“ Need ideas? DM us for a sneak peek of whatโ€™s coming this month.

3. Reusable Bags (the strong kind!)
Youโ€™ll need something to carry your filled containers home. Think sturdy totes, canvas sacks, or even a laundry basket if youโ€™re going big. This isnโ€™t your average plastic-filled supermarket dashโ€”itโ€™s a sustainable shop with soul.

๐ŸŒ The planet thanks you.

4. Card or Bank Transfer
We keep costs low because weโ€™re a not-for-profit collective, but we do need to cover our community-run expenses. Bring your card or Bank Transferโ€”either works! And every dollar goes back into the co-op to keep food affordable and accessible for everyone.

๐Ÿ’š Price transparency? Always.

5. A Friend (or your mum, neighbour, or toddler in tow)
The Pascoe Vale Food Collective isnโ€™t just about foodโ€”itโ€™s about community. Bring someone you love (or want to meet up with). Grab a coffee after. Make it a ritual. We promise it feels good to do this together.

โœจ Because shopping should feel like connection, not chaos.
