***STATEMENT***
This season has become a clear reflection of long‑standing mismanagement at a club that was once on track to becoming one of the most valuable sporting brands in the country.
Over the past decade, failures have continued to pile up - the ownership board must acknowledge its role in the club’s direction. A serious internal review and genuine overhaul are long overdue.
Fans have been left without confidence that there is a clear plan or path forward. Each time a new coaching appointment is made, with it a new ‘style’ or ‘philosophy’. Before that is even implemented, they are gone, and with them goes stability. The club simply resets and repeats the cycle, with no long-term vision. This is not viable.
Management have become so disconnected from its supporter base that the club, which was once lauded for its values and connection to the people of the west, has become soulless and without an identity. Initiatives such as a “Multicultural Round” with restricted representation, promoting away‑day pub meets for a game merely an hour up the freeway instead of encouraging fans to fill the stands, are two recent examples that highlight how out of touch decision‑makers have become with the people of Western Sydney.
On the field, the coaching staff and playing group appear to have lost touch with what it means to represent this club and its community. Two finals appearances in ten years, no major semi‑finals and currently sitting last on the ladder, are unacceptable outcomes for a club of our size, ambition and demographic to represent. Numerous former players callings us a “toxic club” highlight deeper issues within the ranks that can no longer be ignored.
Despite all this, our supporters continue to cling onto some hope, that change is around the corner - they are the ones barley keeping this club alive. But those very same fans deserve more, for the time, effort and money invested into this club. For the best part of a decade this club has been nothing short of appalling, made worse by the absence of accountability, remorse or communication from the top.
Attendances reflect this frustration and rightfully so. Fans are tired of the repeated failures, the excuses, lack of direction and empty promises. The people of Western Sydney are proud and deeply loyal. The crest means more to the fans than some players donning the jersey. Those within the club at any level, whether in management, coaching or playing staff who cannot handle the weight and expectation of this crest, should step aside on their own accord before they are found out publicly.
The glory days must return. A passionate, fierce and truly loyal club from top to bottom that truly represents the people of this region is what we demand.
Enough is enough. We want clarity. We need accountability. We expect change.
