Today we celebrate all the dads, grandfathers, uncles, stepdads, carers and father figures who play such an important role in the lives of our players.
To the dads who coach, train and manage our teams — thank you.
Thank you for giving up your time, for getting to training after a long day at work, for the early morning game days, setting up fields, carrying gear, running water, tying shoelaces, strapping injuries and doing all the little things that often go unnoticed.
Thank you for going above and beyond for not only your own children, but for every child in the team. For treating them like one of your own. For encouraging them when they’re struggling. For celebrating their wins. For picking them up after a tough loss. For teaching them that effort matters, that respect matters and that being a good teammate matters.
Some of the greatest things our kids learn through sport have nothing to do with a scoreboard — and so much of that comes from the people who show up for them week after week.
To those who stand on the sidelines cheering, drive them to and from games/ training, kick a footy around at home, listen to the post-game rundown and somehow manage to find the missing boots five minutes before it’s time to leave… we see you too!
And to those who have stepped into a father-figure role for a child who needed one — whether you’re family, a coach, a mentor or simply someone who chose to show up — what you give these kids can stay with them for a lifetime.
Our club wouldn’t be what it is without the incredible men who give their time, patience, knowledge and heart to our kids.
From everyone at Parramatta City Titans, we hope you had a very Happy Father’s Day.
Today is for you.
Thank you for showing up.
Thank you for giving back.
And most importantly, thank you for being someone our kids can look up to.
Happy Father’s Day, Titans family!
