If something seems too good it usually is. I got hit up in my Instagram DM's by a lady purporting to be Sergeant Doris Martin on deployment with the US Army in Syria. 33yrs old, mother of 7yr old twins and a widow after her husbsnd was killed in a car accident. Deployed to Syria for 9 months so far. Deceased husband was a boxing coach. Within 5 minutes she was trying to get me onto telegram to chat and hit me up for an Apple play card because she said, she's a gamer. I hate to say it, but serious scammer vibes. Sometimes I wish I could see the world with innocent eyes, but I am who I am. So after a brief enjoyable conversation I unfollwed her and blocked her. Could she be the real deal? Maybe, but I'll never know. I'm safe in my own skin and will continue on in my solo adventure of life. I really do love women, but have zero luck in love.

After 20 days on my Camino del Norte 540km completed so far and only one rest dsy taken in that time, I am forced to stop for now. I'm having a break. The achilles tendonitis, blisters, sunburn and general fatigue have taken their toll. I'll do some recovery and do some self maintenance so I can get back on the Camino. It has been a huge achievement to reach the crossroads town of Ribadesella where the Camino Primitivo starts and the Camino del Norte continues. I will take stock, spend some time as a tourist and I might catch a bus to Oviedo to see this magnificent city. I will assess my Camino journey in the next few days. For now I will switch from Perigrinos to tourist

My Camino - Day 16 - Comillas to Colombres.
Today I say goodbye to the pretty village of Comillas after doing a tour of a stately home built by the famous architect Antoni Gaudi. A 30km day today, where after 10km I will leave Cantabria and cross the river into the Austurias region of Spain. Over 400km completed in 15 days so far. My feet are ok and I'm remaining confident I can do this.

My Camino - Day 9 -,Bilbao to Portuglate. 22km done and dusted. A late start to the morning after a fantastic sleep at Latroupe in Bilbao. A leisurely breakfast on the 6th floor and,I was on my way. A much easier day than yesterday, but still plenty of steep pitches, fortunately it was mostly on sealed roads today, with a bit of dirt and mud and a medieval road thrown in for good measure. I was super lucky to get a bed at the Albergue in Portuglate getting the 2nd last bunk. The weather continues to be Fickle and more rain is expected by 11am tomorrow, but it should be light. It,will be,a huge 34km to Castro Urdiales tomorrow on the full route, but I have been assured there is a shorter route (about 27km) with less climbing available, which most pilgrims appear to be choosing. I will be guided by the weather and more experienced people when the options occur tomorrow.

My Camino -Day 7 - Markina -Xemein to Gernika- Lumo.
About 25 km today with about 600m of climbing. I'm almost 7km into the hike today and the weather is holding up ok. Thunderstorms expected around 3pm, so I want to try and get as close to finished before then as possible. With all the rain this, week the trails have been quite muddy, so you have to be on your game all the time. Enjoying the beautiful scenery, but I apologise for not taking enough photos.
