CWHC - Cumberland Women's Health Centre A non-profit community based organisation providing women's health and DV response services These areas still remain the focus of the Centre today

Cumberland Women’s Health Centre (CWHC) is a non-profit community based organisation which was established 26 years ago to provide women’s health services and domestic violence specialist response services to women in the Parramatta, Holroyd, Auburn and Hills area. When the Centre first started in the early 90’s focus was placed upon providing services surrounding anti-violence towards women (part

icularly domestic violence), support for new and emerging groups within the community and activities for the elderly. The Centre recognised these areas as ones where there were gaps in service provision, especially with the provision of crisis assistance in the 4 Cumberland regions.

If our post of journal prompts wasn't your style, maybe some visual art will suit your fancy! πŸ‘©β€πŸŽ¨πŸ’œπŸ’›

Art can be a brilliant way to express, reflect on and process emotions and memories. Through it, we can look both inwards and outwards to examine the issues we face and the possibilities we look forward to.

The colder months bring with them colder moods, moods we have to manage though we'd rather be wrapped up in bed. πŸ’œπŸ’›

Here's some tips to manage your wellbeing throughout winter.

1. Keep active! Regular exercise not only provides endorphines to keep your mood up, but also boosts your immune system, helping you fight off the pesky colds and flus that get around this time of year. πŸ’ͺ

2. Stick to a regular sleep schedule. Undersleeping and oversleeping both have consequences on your body. As tempting as it is to stay in bed all day, it often just leaves you feeling worse. So make sure to maintain a healthy schedule. 😴

3. Get out of the house. Light, laughter and living life are all key to wellbeing. Exposure to sunlight and vitamin D, helps ward off infections, and improve bone, muscle and mental health. Time spent with loved ones outdoors is a great way to get this enrichment. β˜€οΈ

Burnout can leave you feeling stressed, exhausted and lacking the motivation to do the things you need and want to do. So how do you prevent it?

Burnout has a lot of causes, most persistently are lifestyle and workload. In the digital age, where we're all always contactable, it's more important than ever to set clear boundaries and leave work at work. This also gives you more time to maintain the delicate balance between work and life, letting you build relationships and take care of yourself.

When you notice yourself starting to burnout, whether its persistent headaches, drowsiness or elevated stress, take a moment to reevaluate your balance. Prevention is often easier than regaining balance entirely. πŸ’œπŸ’›

Big thank you to United Against Domestic Violence - UADV for their lovely donation of kitchen supplies for one of our clients! πŸ’œπŸ’›

United Against Domestic Violence (UADV) is a great association that supports survivors of DV through providing homeware items to those in need. Setting up in a new home can be tough, and this simple act of giving can make all the difference. Donations like these allow us to continue and widen our support of local women and we really appreciate them.
