On this day 5th February 2022, Australian South East Asian Network - ASEAN was officially launched @ Lao Community Advancement NSW, supported by President Bountham Vongsaya and his team Sourina Srey at a time when Tri Vo MP - State Member for Cabramatta was not yet an MP ! Despite Covid, in the presence of Chris Bowen MP, Anne Stanley MP new alliance was forged with the Lao Community led by ASEAN Founder Award The rest was history for AYAT - ASEAN Youth Ambassadors Team Asean Founder Medal - afm. MKA National Campaign

We are pleased to announce the launch of the National Initiative for the Michael Kirby ASEAN Award (MKA) 2026. This prestigious program aims to honour tertiary students who exemplify leadership, academic excellence, and meaningful engagement within the community as: an advocate of Australian values and/or defender of human rights.

The official MKA 2026 Nomination Form is now available for tertiary students across the country.
