Hearing about youth led initiatives from 17x16cdp, focused on tenant satisfaction with CHIA NSW, commenced business planning for 2026-27, had dinner with our Metro Quarter tenants before a cultural cruise with tribal warrior

A very important reminder to our tenants and communities about the dangers of litium batteries. There has been a sharp increase in house fires from litium batteries in recent times.
Please look at this short video of how to properly look after, charge, store and dispose of litium batteries (generally from e-bikes and e-scooters).

When buying and using lithium-ion battery-powered products, safety should come first. In NSW, lithium-ion batteries have become a leading fire hazard, posing serious risks in homes, workplaces, and waste facilities.

We all walk on Aboriginal land.

Forty years on from the recognition of Land Rights, our journey continues. We’ve built Local Aboriginal Land Councils, reclaimed Country and secured hard-won victories. Despite this, the promise of land justice in New South Wales is far from fulfilled.

Today, NSWALC is evolving into a strategic force: advocating for our people, protecting our rights and creating new opportunities for self-determination and economic independence.

Birribee Housing participated in the NAIDOC event at Carriageworks yesterday with our partners on the Waterloo South Renewal Project, Homes NSW, City West Housing, Stockland and Link Wentworth Housing

We were proud to join the Homes NSW stall at the NAIDOC Inner City Family Fun Day yesterday, along with our Waterloo Community Housing partners Stockland, City West Housing and Birribee Housing.
