The Birribee stall at the 2026 Koori Knockout was fun for all involved. We met with so many knockout attendees that were interested in our work, with many helping us to better understand Aboriginal housing issues through completing a survey. The survey prize will be drawn tomorrow with the winner taking away the framed 2026 signed Rabbitohs jersey.

Knockout season is challenging for households. Planning for the knockout is more than organising 25 players, stockpiling strapping tape, cleaning a few water bottles and designing the best jumper for the KO. Households also need to plan about looking after their tenancy. The Tenants Union & Aboriginal Tenants Advice and Advocacy Services have created a helpful guide to assist with this.

One of our local contractors kindly donated an 18v electric mower recently to Birribee Housing. Birribee then found a model tenant who has been in the same home for decades with wonderful property care. We are sure this mower will be put to good use. Congratulations to this deserving recipient!

Birribee will join Platform Youth Services and Link Wentworth Housing in Home Sweet - Charity fundraiser that will support the three services in addressing homelessness and housing pressures. Birribee Housing proudly celebrates achieving NRSCH Tier 1 registration. The Birribee team were joined in the celebration by friends, allies, and partners.

Hearing about youth led initiatives from 17x16cdp, focused on tenant satisfaction with CHIA NSW, commenced business planning for 2026-27, had dinner with our Metro Quarter tenants before a cultural cruise with tribal warrior
