Last night we were privileged to hear from Angie Bell MP. Apart from being an Australian politician who has been a member of the House of Representatives since the 2019 federal election, Ms Bell was fortunate enough to spend a year in Denmark as a Rotary Youth Exchange student in the 1990's.

It was fabulous to hear of her experiences engaging with this program and where this experience has taken her and shaped her career as a politician in service to her fellow Australians.

Our Rotary Youth Exchange District 9640 Australia student Theo Gondolf was thrilled to hear of Ms Bell's experiences, and enjoyed speaking Danish with her in our meeting.

Ms Bell represents the Division of Moncrieff in Queensland. She is a member of the Liberal National Party of Queensland and sits with the Liberal Party in federal parliament. She is also the shadow Minister for youth affairs and offered some sage advice to the youngest members in our meeting. Thank you for your time Angie Bell MP.

Happy Mother's Day to all of the beautiful women in our life who have nurtured and cared for others. On Thursday, PRC members Kate Bentley, Jo Leigh, Howard Morton, Theresa Jepson (also TASS staff πŸ˜‰) and Russell Salisbury worked alongside Arundel State School staff to cook a well deserved breakfast for all the beautiful mums associated with the school. We hope every one of you are showered with the love πŸ’• and appreciation you deserve on Sunday πŸ’πŸ’–πŸŒΈπŸŒΉπŸ΅οΈ

At last night's meeting we heard the courageous stories of Simon and Xena Schembri from AT THE ARK, a community organisation based locally on the Gold Coast helping families and individuals heal, rebuild and thrive through trauma and healing counselling.

Xena is an international author who has written a memoir, trauma self help book and a series of children's books to equip children, adults, parents, grandparents, carers, psychologists and counsellors with dealing with sexual abuse and the trauma left in its wake.
