What a moment for the Sri Lankan Graduate Society (SLGS)! 🇱🇰 ❤️

We’re incredibly proud and excited to share that SLGS has won the Best Club Event Award at the University of Melbourne Student Union Award Night 2026, with Summer Fest’26 recognised as the winning event in the Under 50 Participants category! 🎉🏆

With more than 250 clubs and societies across the University of Melbourne, this recognition means so much to us. It reflects the passion, creativity, teamwork, and effort that went into bringing Summer Fest’26 to life.

A special thank you to our past and present committee members, volunteers, supporters, and everyone who attended Summer Fest’26 and made the event what it was. ❤️

We’re incredibly proud to see that effort recognised, and even prouder to share this moment with the entire SLGS family.

Here’s to many more memories and milestones together!❤️🏆

🙏 Thank You for Joining Us! 🙏

Our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who attended Ehipassiko – “Come and See for Yourself”, making our Vesak and Poson Celebration a truly meaningful evening.

A special thank you to Ven. Kotte Santhindriya Thero, Chief Resident Monk of Daham Niketanaya Temple for sharing an inspiring Dhamma talk and guiding us through the teachings of the Buddha.

We are also grateful to all volunteers, supporters, and attendees who contributed to the success of this event. May the merits gained bring peace, wisdom, and happiness to all beings.

☸️ SLGS Vesak & Poson Celebration ’26: Ehipassiko ☸️

“ භික්ඛවෙ, අප්පමාදෙන සම්පාදෙථ. දුල්ලභො බුද්ධුප්පාදො ලෝකස්මිං, දුල්ලභො මනුස්සත්තපටිලාභො, දුල්ලභා ඛණසම්පත්ති, දුල්ලභා පබ්බජ්ජා, දුල්ලභං සද්ධම්මස්සවණං.”

Be diligent and strive on. Rare is the arising of a Buddha in the world, rare is attaining human birth, rare is the fortunate moment, rare is renunciation, and rare is the hearing of the true Dhamma.
