Attending a community broadcasting sector conference and hearing the work of others in multicultural broadcasting, Jimmy Li was inspired to start the 'Her Quiet Strength' project.

A year later at the Multicultural Voices Australia conference, he shared about his experiences capturing migrant stories in Mandarin for Goulburn Valley's ONE FM - focusing on the stories of migrant Chinese women building new lives in regional Victoria.

"I just wanted to explore more about the journey and see what these women have been getting through, overcoming" Jimmy told multicultural broadcasters from across Australia.

The Mandarin Program with Jimmy and the 'Her Quiet Strength' project airs on ONE FM 98.5 Shepparton and is available on your favourite podcasting platforms.

Hope 103.2 shares some of the latest research about community broadcasting and reflects on the power of connection.

"We’re not just a radio station. We’re a Christian media ministry, and everything we do, every song we play, every conversation we broadcast, every piece of content we create, flows from a belief that media can carry something deeper than entertainment. It can carry hope."

This National Sorry Day we're encouraging community broadcasters to think about the role they can play in truth telling and preserving the stories of Elders - as reflected by Charley Woolmore in our Reconciliation Action Plan.

With our Round 2 grants opening in late June, now's a great time to start conversations about what's possible.
