❤️ Introducing Emilia, our Champion for Two Feet & A Heartbeat Mildura ❤️

Emilia was diagnosed with Kawasaki Disease at just four months old. A follow-up appointment in Melbourne unexpectedly became a hospital admission when doctors discovered the disease had damaged her heart.

For her mum Danielle, being six hours from home and separated from the rest of the family was incredibly difficult. HeartKids was there with information, support and connection when she needed it most.

Danielle says, “Having HeartKids there makes that journey a little less lonely.”

Today, Emilia loves to laugh, play, copy her big sisters and give gymnastics a go, showing just how resilient heart kids can be.

❤️ Introducing Ella, our Champion for Two Feet & A Heartbeat Warrnambool ❤️

Ella is 22 and was born with Tetralogy of Fallot. Her heart journey has included three open-heart surgeries, with a valve replacement expected in the future.

Last month Ella reached an especially meaningful milestone welcoming her first baby with her husband Zavier.

For Ella it’s a powerful reminder that a heart condition is only one part of her story.

Ella says, “Having a heart condition doesn’t define you.”

HeartKids has helped Ella feel proud of her journey and connected to a community that understands.

❤️ Introducing Joshua, our Champion for Two Feet & A Heartbeat Melbourne ❤️

Joshua was diagnosed before birth with several congenital heart defects, including Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS). Since then, his heart journey has included three open-heart surgeries, 111 days in hospital and months of intensive care.

After his Fontan surgery in 2024, Joshua returned home with more energy, curiosity and enthusiasm for life.

HeartKids has been there for Joshua and his family through hospital stays, appointments and the many ups and downs of life with childhood-onset heart disease.

His dad David says, “HeartKids has given our family a bigger purpose beyond Joshua’s condition.”

❤️ Introducing Eleanor, our Champion for Two Feet & A Heartbeat Ballarat ❤️

Eleanor was diagnosed with a complete Atrio-ventricular Septal Defect (AVSD) at her 20-week scan. At just 6.5 weeks old, she underwent her first open-heart surgery, followed by a second surgery at 17 months.

Throughout Eleanor’s heart journey, HeartKids has been there to support her family with information, resources and connection to other heart families.

Her mum Emma says, “HeartKids has made a difference in our journey by helping us feel less alone.”

Today, Eleanor continues to show incredible strength, with her family celebrating every milestone along the way.
