Sailability, Gold Coast The principle aim of Sailability Gold Coast is to facilitate sailing and boating activities, in all forms, for people with disabilities.

The sport of sailing has given added meaning to the words freedom and fun for a person with diminished capabilities be they physical, intellectual or both. This is the experience we hope to give to all persons regardless of their ability. Our program also encourages people to sail solo in our dinghies or as a crew member on our yachts. Yesterday, Sailability was proud to be part of World Spinal Cord Injury Day at Gold Coast University Hospital 💙⛵

It was a fantastic day connecting with GCUH staff, research organisations and the wider community, while sharing what Sailability is all about. We also had the opportunity to meet some potential new participants and volunteers — always wonderful to spread the word and welcome new faces!

The day also saw the Perry Cross Spinal Research Foundation launch their major annual fundraiser, SIP Week, alongside an incredible display from Griffith University’s School of Allied Health BioSpine Project, showcasing some of the amazing research being undertaken in spinal cord injury and rehabilitation.
A great day of connection, awareness, research and community — and we were very happy to be a small part of it. 💙
