As many of you are aware, patrols have now wrapped up for the season. While the weather is cooler, we know our beaches are far too beautiful not to enjoy throughout winter.

If you’re visiting the beach during the off-season, here are a few important things to know:

Emergency Response Beacons remain in place at the Pambula River Mouth and Merimbula Bar Beach. These beacons provide a direct link to our State Operations Centre, who can task our Emergency Call Out Team β€” volunteers who remain on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

If you are at a location away from a beacon, call 000 and ask for Police.

The Pambula Surf Life Saving Club clubhouse also has:
β€’ An external defibrillator (AED) available for public use
β€’ A newly installed shark bite/trauma kit mounted on the beach side of the clubhouse next to the defibrillator

Remember to Stop. Look. Stay Alive. before entering the water this winter.

A huge thank you to all of our volunteers for another incredible patrol season. Pictured are some of our members on their final patrol for the season.

❀️ SURF LIFESAVING NEW SOUTH WALES FEMALE JUNIOR SURF LIFESAVER OF THE YEAR πŸ’›

The Far South Coast has done it again with our incredible Emma Dawson from Broulee Surfers Surf Life Saving Club named Surf Life Saving NSW Junior Lifesaver of the year at the state camp today.

Emma is just the third Far South Coast lifesaver, and first from Broulee Surfers to receive this honour, following in the footsteps of Tathra Surf Life Saving Club Michelle Bouvett in 1993, and Moruya Surf Life Saving Club Zara Hall in 2024.

After a whirlwind three days in Collaroy where they built new connections and developed their skills as lifesavers.

From the whole Far South Coast Branch, congratulations Emma we are all so proud of you!πŸŒŸπŸ‘πŸ½

A big shoutout to our male Junior Lifesaver of the Year, Harry Leach, from Broulee Surfers for making the most of the amazing opportunity at state camp this week.

The future of our clubs and branch are in safe hands with this next generation, and we cannot wait to see what the future holds for you both.

The Advanced IRB Skills Development Program is open to financial & proficient members of any club who hold an IRB Crew and/or Silver Medallion IRB Driver Award. This course is being run by Surf Life Saving NSW. The Program aims to enhance the skills and experiences of surf lifesavers in powercraft operations through collaborative and consistent training, utilizing a mix of drill-based activities, dedicated coaching, and scenario-based training. Training may include swimming & mounting rock shelves depending on location.

Please consider registering for the program using the link below. Registration Link ⬇️

This is an official registration form for a two-day program; you will need to attend both days with day two finishing approx. 1pm.

Please also check in with your own club that you’re attending, as we may need to borrow extra IRB’s or radios per boat depending on the number of registrants we have to ensure the course runs efficiently as we know people are volunteering their time.
