World Environment Day 2026 ♻️🌏

From resource recovery and recycling to reuse shops and container collection, our teams work alongside communities across Queensland and Victoria to keep valuable materials out of landfill and give them a second life. Every day is Environment Day at Outlook!

In the last year alone, millions of kilograms of materials were diverted from landfill through Outlook-operated sites, helping to conserve resources, reduce emissions and create a cleaner, greener future for all.

What makes this work even more meaningful is that it creates social impact too. Through Australia's largest waste management social enterprise, we provide employment, training and opportunity for people who may face barriers to finding work.

This World Environment Day, we're proud to celebrate the thousands of customers, community members, council partners and team members who choose reuse, recycle and make sustainable choices every day.

This week, we join communities across Australia in recognising National Reconciliation Week and reflecting on this year's theme; All In for Reconciliation.

Reconciliation is about listening, learning, building understanding and taking action towards a more equitable future for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

At Outlook, we are committed to creating inclusive communities where everyone feels valued, respected and connected. We acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the lands on which we live and work, and we pay our respects to Elders past and present.

This National Reconciliation Week, we encourage our community to take time to learn more about Australia's shared history, celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, and consider how each of us can be all in for reconciliation.

We are proud to announce that Outlook Australia has successfully retendered for Livingstone Shire Council Resource Recovery and Transfer Station Services.

This means we’ll continue delivering transfer station services across Livingstone and operating the Refindit by Outlook reuse shop at Yeppoon, helping the community reuse, recycle and keep valuable items out of landfill.

Refindit by Outlook - Yeppoon gives pre-loved goods a second life, while supporting our broader mission to create inclusive and sustainable communities.

Thank you to Livingstone Shire Council, our local team and everyone who supports reuse in the region. We’re excited to keep working together for great community and circular economy outcomes.

Outlook is proud to announce that it is continuing its resource recovery and recycling partnership with Livingstone Shire Council.

Outlook Australia is proud to be Good Market People and Planet First verified, making it easier to find and connect with social enterprises, cooperatives, responsible businesses, networks, community initiatives, and changemakers creating a better world.

For organisations that share this verification, it means 'they exist to solve social or environmental problems. They prioritise purpose, people, and the planet over private profit, have a self-sustaining revenue model, reinvest the majority of any surplus towards their purpose, and have a structure to protect their purpose
over time.'

Find other verified organisations across all sectors and services here: https://verified.peopleandplanetfirst.org/directory

Together, we are moving beyond “business as usual” and building an economy that puts people and planet first.

How many Daniels is too many? 🤔

If you ask him, he’d probably tell you one is more than enough… but when it comes to celebrating our volunteers, nothing is too much!

This National Volunteer Week, we want to say a huge thank you to the incredible people who generously give their time, skills, kindness and energy to Outlook and our community.

They lend a hand behind the scenes, support programs, help customers and much more. More importantly, they make every day better. Our volunteers make a real difference every single day!

We loved celebrating some of our amazing volunteers at Outlook Community Centre this week and recognising the impact they have across Outlook. Thank you for everything you do. We couldn’t do it without you!

We’re proud to offer free pads and tampons at Outlook Community Centre thanks to the Victorian State Government initiative supporting better access to period products.

Our new dispenser machine was installed last week and is now available for community members who may need it.

Access to period products is essential, and initiatives like this help create more inclusive, supportive and accessible community spaces for everyone.
