We’re looking for residential cleaners to support older people in the NSW Greater Newcastle and Central Coast regions to remain living independently in their own homes.

From vacuuming and mopping to cleaning kitchens and bathrooms, your work will help keep someone’s home comfortable, clean and safe.

We have part time and casual roles available, Monday to Friday between 8am and 5pm.

This is what it's all about! Today was Januka’s first day in his first paid job, and we’re so pleased to welcome him to the team.

Januka is an NDIS participant supported by Outlook who has been working towards his goal of finding a job.

After a fantastic work experience placement at Bunnings, he moved over to our Hampton Park social enterprise site, where he developed his skills at the Refindit by Outlook reuse shop, grew more independent and built friendships with his colleagues.

Every week, he would ask whether there was a job available. When an opportunity came up, Outlook supported Januka to prepare his resumé and apply. His persistence paid off! He has now joined the team three days a week, starting in the shop and is keen to learn other parts of the site along the way.

Congratulations, Januka. You’ve worked hard to get here, and we look forward to seeing what comes next.

Are you part of a business, school or organisation that is planning a furniture or equipment upgrade? Before you organise disposal of your unwanted items, consider giving them a second life with Refindit by Outlook.

Recently, a local school, a charity, a world-famous racecourse and a big four bank branch have worked with us to bulk donate furniture and equipment they no longer needed.

These donations help keep useful items out of landfill, bring affordable preloved goods into our community shops and support employment and skill development for people experiencing barriers to work.

We’d love to hear from businesses and organisations before they send unwanted furniture and equipment for recycling or landfill.

Great impact needs great people.

Outlook’s SP2030 goal is to achieve a 10x increase in social impact by 2030. Our Year 1 results show we are making strong early progress.

Results like this do not happen by accident. They happen because of people.
Across Outlook, our 400+ staff are helping create positive change every day. Refindit by Outlook reuse shops are much-loved community hubs where people can find affordable everyday items, discover unique pieces and collectables, or simply enjoy a friendly chat with our team and volunteers.

Each shop has its own character and strong connection to the local community. They bring together customers, employees, volunteers and community organisations, all helping to recover valuable items and materials that may otherwise end up in landfill.

Refindit also creates meaningful employment, training and skill development opportunities for people who may face barriers to employment, along with rewarding ways for local volunteers to get involved.

By giving preloved items another chance to be used and enjoyed, our shops help reduce waste, strengthen community connections and contribute to a more circular local economy.

Dementia is not a normal part of ageing. While it is more common as we get older, dementia is caused by diseases that affect the brain. People can also develop dementia before the age of 65.

Dementia Action Week is an opportunity to build understanding, challenge stigma and consider how we can all help people living with dementia remain connected, respected and included in their communities.

Across Outlook Australia, we work with older community members in different ways.

In New South Wales, our Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) team provides practical support to older people across the Central Coast and Hunter regions, helping them maintain their independence and continue living safely and confidently at home.

At Outlook Community Centre in Pakenham, connection and inclusion are at the heart of what we do. This includes our monthly Forget-Me-Not Café, a relaxed café-style get-together where people living with dementia and their loved ones can spend time together, meet others and enjoy a welcoming community environment.

For people living with dementia, opportunities to stay connected, participate and feel part of their community matter.

What is an Impact Unit? 📏
As part of Outlook’s SP2030 goal, we are working towards a 10x increase in social impact by 2030.

To help us measure this meaningfully, we worked with Think Impact to develop an Impact Measurement Framework that is fit for purpose for Outlook’s work.

This framework helps us understand the real change Outlook creates at an individual level, for the people we support, employ and work alongside.

One of the key tools in this framework is an Impact Unit.

Impact Units help us measure social value by looking at a combination of four things:

• Scale: how many people experienced change
• Depth: how much change they experienced
• Value: how important the change was to them
• Outlook’s contribution: the role Outlook played in creating that change

This information does not come from an accounting ledger, a spending calculator or the number of service hours delivered.

It comes directly from the people experiencing the change.

That means our impact is measured by what changes for people, not by how much money is spent.

Impact Units help us understand what is working, where our impact is growing, and how we can continue improving as we work towards an inclusive society for all.
